    Hi yall again... :D

Got a quicky about ignition timing... I checked my timing and using two of the procedures and they have different results.. just checking I don't have ANOTHER problem...

    1. With my timing light on the cylinder one ignition lead I get a base timing of about 16deg

    2. With my timing light on the black wire loop at the PTU I get like 25+

Which is the correct method to use (supposing I dont have a datascan) and if both are supposed to give the same results.. could a dodgy neutral switch cause this... (I wouldn't have thought so but thought I'd ask)..

    Thanks again to all...:zlove:

    Forget the black wire loop...

If you're getting ~16 with the ignition lead then you're looking good. I purchased some high tension wire and ran it from the plug to the coil pack. It gave the EXACT same reading, EXCEPT the gun flickered more rapidly.

Check the FSM for the exact procedure, it invovles something like.

    1. wheels pointing forward
    2. turn off all accessories
    3, rev at 2k for 2 minutes (to engage O2s I'm assuming)
    4. check timing
