finally installed the udp in my auto TT yesterday, was expecting the result as good as my old NA manual.
what i immediately noticed was the idling went rough, not as smooth as before. overall under 2000rpm the car is running bit rough, engine vibration is noticeable too (can feel it in cabin)

at high revs it runs as beautiful as before.

    any input people?

do i need to reset the ecu?

    thanks as usual.

Clean all the electrical connectors you disturbed: CAS PTU etc.

same result as when I put one on my old NA auto. Took it off the following week.

Reset the ecu. If it doesnt change take it off.

ptu and cas connector are both clean, no corrosion.

i have the same thought, will see what will happen this week.

Tek, what brand udp you used? mine is GFB, we both have dodgy udp?

Check CAS female wiring pins (loom side) are tight. Also do an ECU diagnostic for error codes

forgot to mention idle speed is about 100rpm higher than before udp installed.

    disconnect the battery overnight,
    start again today still vibrating.

good news also bad news: code 55.

can any other thing go wrong?

Increased rpm is due to a lighter UDP less rotating mass on the crank. I think you may have a dud UDP, just a question you have left a bolt out by accident as this can make the mass un-balanced.

what brand is it? could be the case if it's a cheap ebay jobbie. if it's a quality piece like a UR or something then it might be engine tolerance that's questionable. not every engine is the same after 20 years.

it is GFB udp, quite a big name.

will double check that crank bolt tomorrow, i doubt because it has been tighten up by air impact wrench.
