    ok well..
my Z runs fine when cold, althought when the engine starts to "warm up", its beguins to idle like a total dog, to such a point where it konkd out the other day, although started it up about 5 mins later and it went backl to normal?...

ive heard things about the "PTU" being buggered causing abnormal idle revs?

    helpp.

Something similar on my car was doing this, and turned out (for me) my airflow meter or something was out, causing my revs to change. (Would either sit at 1000rpm, drop to 600rpm, then backup)

Though, once it warmed up, it tended to be okay.

This topic has been done-to-death lol, myself included in that list... heh.

    Search is your friend :)

I'll give a few easy pointers to check out, more complicated fixes, you'll have to search...

-Check corrosion on connectors first, for example CAS, PTU, TPS, MAF, Injectors the usual idle problem culprits. If corrosion found, deal with it. I have some connector cleaner stuff in a can, forgot the name, designed for electrical components, works wonders, very effective, much better then trying for ages to scrub the crap off with other solvents.

-Check TPS voltage, look in tech section for 'how to', not overly difficult and easy to rectify if off. Simple matter of lightly unscrewing adjustment screw and tapping till voltage reads 0.45V then retightening screw.

-Check Injector resistances, see tech section. Wrong resistance = screwed Injector, look at replacing.

Beyond that, it'll become tricky and purely a matter of step by step elimination / problem solving, wouldn't suggest doing everything you suspect in one go, because if something does fix and you've done 20 things, it'll be that much more difficult to track down and ensure it doesn't happen again.

    Good luck.

    thx.
im going to post some images of some disconnected wired i have found...
like at the feet of the passenger??
near the "japan electronic control system"

    here we go...

this is the "japan electronic...." that i was talking about :p
now to be refered to as, "the golden box":D:D
    [IMG]

ok, number one.. black wire, just heads off behind this "gold box"

number two: black and red wire, has a "joiner/connection" on the end, heads up towards the console.

number three: black wire with greay stripe running along it, and another red wire, also head up towards the console. red joiner on the end.

number four: green wire, head off behind the "golden box" :p
    [IMG]

number five: blue, yellow and green wires in a black rubberish hose. they all have like clamps on the end.

AND FINALLY, number six: a few coloured wires , once again in a black rubber tube, with a black connection on th end..

Could someone please explain what CAS, PTU, TPS, MAF means?

Check out the wiring diagram for the ecu in the service manual, work out which terminal it's coming from. The service manual is in the tech section.
