what electrical wires I can come off. Probably under the steering column. So I need to know the colour of the wire that is active when the ignition is on (to run the guage) and also a wire that is active when the lights (parkers and main) are on for the gauge backlight and also an earth wire in the same area again for the back light. Please don't answer unless you are sure of the colour of the wires. Thanks if you can help otherwise I'll probably spend the night pouring over a pretty bad copy of a very complex wiring diagram. Has anyone made a really good copy of the electrical circuit diagrams in the manual (prefer Aus) yet - we really need one that you can blow up a bit with all writing fairly clear. Cheers. Clive. (This info is probably been already covered but I wasn't sure how to search for it).

You'll need to add an after market pressure sender, which should come with the gauge. So the only wires you'll need to tap into is an earth and an instrument wire for illumination at night. These shouldn't be hard to find.

Thanks for the reply Rodd BUT

"These shouldn't be hard to find." Yeah right. But I think I will have to go from the back of the instrument cluster might be the easiest way. I have a sender but will also need a 12 volt ignition source to the gauge as well. Again from the back of the cluster I think. According to the drawing all the wires go down to the fuse box beside the accelerator pedal but might be hard to tap into. I will look tomorrow. Thanks again. Cheers. Clive.

Blue wire off IGN is ACCessory, also available behind stereo.

    Use Multi-meter to test.

Thanks for this Rob. This is probably the way to go as I want to put the

gauge (gauges (coolant temperature also) and warning lights (low oil pressure, high water temperature and Chewy's low water level indicator) in the slot just below the radio. There should be the three feeds I need there and won't draw that much current on accessories. Cheers. Clive.

Worthwhile article although he doesn't mention the colour of the light

source wire which is green with a red stripe according to the manual. There is some good articles under Electrical in the Tech Section - I had never looked there. Thanks for your reply.
