i know that the conversion is also possible in a cefiro, using a rb20

crossmenber.....this may or not bolt up to the z31 chassis but it does bolt up to a silvia so it would be similar......

You can buy all the 200ZR mounting gear direct from nissan still - sump and mounts. Thats how a lot of guys are doing S30 conversions in teh states on hybridz.org

cerifo sump or GQ? Patrol sump will work too

You do realize that the VG30 is good for 500hp on entirely stock engine internals, and up to 800hp+ with race modifications right?

I wouldn't be so quick to do an engine swap, if your car is NA then do a turbo swap. By the time you've spent all the money on a RB25 and everything else needed for the swap you're going to be thousands down in cash for a crappy 250hp that the RB25 puts out in stock form. You could use that same money and have near 500hp from the VG30.

It's very common for new Z31 owners to first ask "zomg what engine can I put in lolz" not knowing that a VG30ET is a VERY strong engine and came EXTREMELY detuned from the factory... You can get 3-400hp out of it easily by doing the most basic shit and not even touching the engine itself. I suggest you do your homework before thinking about a full engine swap, just my opinion.

No need, the VG30 is plenty capable...

    Underrated motor, but...........

With the cast crank there is a limit to what the VG30ET can do. Hard to find out what that limit might be, ~400whp would probably do it. Of course you can put a twin cam forged crank in.

if i was to leave a vg motor in it i wouldnt want a z31 motor!
i would want twin turbo z32 donk,
then it would be a lot of stuffing around and it would cost more than the rb swap
i will post up the quotes when i find them

You have a beautiful approach to asking for assistance.
Have you tried listening to the advice being offered, or do you only accept the ideas that you have already formulated in you own mind(the ideas that don't appear workable, hence your request for more info)?

"and DONT tell me other wise coz i no!" is not only bad English, it's also poor judgement and insulting to the very people you are asking for help.:mad:

If you're so knowledgeable about these issues, why not trot along and do the swap, then we can all get back to Z32's(which is what this forum is really all about)?:p:p:p:rolleyes:

PM'd response to my above post!

    My reply:

Firstly this IS a forum for Z32's ONLY. Over the past several months, there have been a few Z31 owners like yourself coming on here and asking for info.
That's fine by us, but this site has no real info available for Z31's(except from a few people who may have had one at some time).

There have been countless posts stating that this is a Z32 Forum ONLY, but we a happy to give whatever assistance we can to other Zed owners. That doesn't mean that we have to put up with insulting, smart arse comments from individuals with bad attitudes or persecution complexes.

I couldn't give a **** what sort of car you drive, but I do have a problem with your attitude, so like it or not, that's how it is. I suggest you grow up and learn a few manners, or piss off to some other forum(we already have more fukwits than we need).
BTW, you could do with learning how to spell the English language, before you try to lecture our members about Z32's and their shortcomings.

I have had my Z32 for 7 years, without suffering from "overheating problems", and like all the other rumors about problems, most can be fixed by regular maintenance(NOT BY REQUIRING ENGINE TRANSPLANTS OF A DIFFERENT DESIGN).

Don't do it mate, I've looked at numerous transplants including RB20DET, RB25DET and VG30DET and I keep coming back to leaving the VG30 in it.

Yours being NA has higher compression so would go harder with a turbo on it. Just do a compression test on that motor, 210k is f*ck all for a VG30 if it's been looked after.

Join www.z31performance.com in the states. It's the best Z31 forum going around.

While it may seem as simple as getting all the ZR shit and bolting it all up, it isn't.
