Much like caz I completed a drift oriented driving course today. This one was the Rick Bates skidpan car control course today... Awesome...

Pretty much there was a little skidpan with an assortment of corners and an instructor (Rick Bates no-where to be seen ) takes you around and gives you a basic lesson and by the end of the day leaves you to your own devices/enjoyment...

in otherwords, safe environment, learn to do it properly off the street, I say great idea (especially considering I looped it my fair share of times, lol)

There was a forrester club and some of those guys were really hanging it out all day, an FTO a maxima a 260z and a commonwhore out there on the day (plus me of course)

    anyway on with the pics!

There was a guy in a 260Z out there, but it seemed very spin happy!! ^^^

But then again, nobody's perfect, lol ^^^ (i didn't even get close to recovering from that, lol)

Sorry just got sent this and had to add it...

The FTO guy rode shotgun for my last round on the pad and he was a funny guy, after a full day in a FF the Z was a very exciting experience for him... and well it didn't take much angle to excite him as demonstrated below, lol:zlove:

Looks very much like the Advanced car control course i'll be undertaking on the 25th of this month under the watchfull eye of Ian Luff and he's very competent team...
sounds like you had heaps of fun and all without breaking a single law. Kudos ;)

The idea was to experience plenty of both understeer and oversteer

and learn how to contol them incase it happens on the street. That way you could hopefully recognise and control them better.

You can call it that or into to drift etc...

more of a fun activity where you can get some instruction into some different techniques/experiment in a safe enviroment.

As for showing up the 'soobys' was better than a couple of them... but some of those guys had the ass at some incredible angles...

btw, if your doing the course at queenbeyan driving training centre it is most likely one and the same.
