The sound is so different to the zed and so powerful. Anyways am currently thinking if i should keep the Zed or not, i guess it depends on the price its willing to fetch. I wish i wasnt but i cant seem to keep a car for too long and always want somthing different. Unfortunately i had wanted a Zed for a long time not that they looked apealing to me from the many i had seen on the road but just looking at its shape and seeing potential at what i could make it into. It was fun spending countless hours and looking after it and trying to make it look the way i wanted but after getting the Maloo it has reminded me life is to short to dedicate it to just one car. lol My next car is gonna be the Porsche Boxter S 05 with a Turbo upgrade from porsche towards the end of the year if everything is well. Anyways Im still tossing up between keeping the z or selling it to make room in the Garage. What you guys think, put one of the hottest zed on the road for sale or keep and preserve it?:wacko::unsure:
Sounds like you've already made your mind up aK. If your new love is the Maloo, and your next goal is the Porsche then if you keep the Zed, It'll only be collecting dust and get forgotten about. Hate to say it, but in your particular case I'd sell the Zed.
I hope I never think about selling my zed Nothing looks better or faster to me Ask a very good price for it aK. Dont just satisfy the market of people just looking for a cheap zed to start off in, but make sure its new owner is or will be a member of the forum so we can keep up with the eye candy from time to time Given your situation and future plans, selling the zed seems like the way to go unfortunatly.
RE: put one of the hottest zed on the road for sale or keep and preserve it If you really need to ask that question, SELL IT. What happened to all the talk about sponsorship and AutoSalon? Sponsors want some return for their dollars, not "Wham! Bam! See you later Ma'm!".
A Maloo... sounding hot ???? There's nothing like the sound of a v8 stang vet or camero, or the gut retching sound of v12's or 10's. But a mal'who in amoungst some of the world best sounding old bloke engine's.... don't know, something just sounds a little manufactured, all the new xr8's or hsv's all seem to have that, "we really wanted it to sound like a classic, so we put in an echo in the pipes" When it comes to old school, give me old school...
I forgot he had sponsers What exactly did you get from the sponsership deal aK? You will (or should) have to consult with them about selling the car as they have a stake in this also if you have not held your end of the obligations (entering autosalons etc). And for example if you got the wheels (or anything) for free in a sponsorship deal, wouldn't that be THEIR property until your obligations to them are met?
Yep it looks a treat but is it any good? I seem to remember a lot of smoke coming from it at the tech day. maybe it was a little thing. And what about your coilovers, are you going to fit them and then sell it as I don't think you'd recoup that would you? Cheers and good luck with the boxster, they are cool. Geoff
arrrghh sponsors shponsors lol Thats the thing i was so motivated even a few days back to do so much to the zed but after continously driving the v8 i just lost interest and cant be bothered. Both guys who sponsored the car have become good mates and they wouldnt mind. I figure lol The smoke was from using 5w very thin oil which doesnt go too well unless you have a new engine. If i get a reasonable price for the car its going, if not then ill continue throwing more money on it and go all out with the engine which was next on my things to do list. *shrug* I get more looks in the zed then the maloo lol
Re: A Maloo... sounding hot ???? holden uses the same engine as the vetts and camaro's dude......... so how do you figure? albiet they use a different cam profile, change the cams and vola.
RE: Sell or not sell. Owning an "exoticar" is something that requires more than an "it's just a set of wheels" attitude. If you don't develop an affinity with the "exotic beast" in a Z32, how the Hell would you ever do so with a Maloo, Boxster, No.459 Bus, skateboard, or whatever other wheeled vehicle takes your fancy next? I'm certainly no-one to be telling you what to buy or sell, but I believe you will throw a lot of good money, after bad, if you flit from car to car like some confused butterfly with no real direction or purpose. You have the beginings of a beautiful and rare example of an exotic motoring icon in your grasp (and you have the envy of a number of other Zed owners), why throw that away like an empty Coke can? Sermon over.:zlove::zlove:
thank you 'unca chili for such words of such deep and zedful wisdom .. sums up all, IMHO...that's why we need you at COONA!! and to my contribution .. wot was it that MR FOO said .. " .. wot, me worry ..???!!!!":LOL::LOL: edit: or was that alfred E ...????:LOL:
Now you own a ute too, go and put a Grange front on it!!!!! Here's a few picks of the daily driver>>> With temporary Caprice grill in place and no spotties> With the proper HSV Grange grill and spotties in place and winning Top City ute at the ute muster And then of course put some 20's on it!
gross.... sorry, but no amount of anything could get me to like utes You know what its missing? Some bricks and a wheelbarrow in the back. Oh and the tools etc. but then again those rims arn't too practical on the construction site, they'll have to go! Mate if you want a nice car get a nice car... don;t try and pass that tradesmans tool off to me as sporty or desirable:sick::sick::sick: Keep the Z, sell the ute to a junkie:zlove:
Zzz .. you forgot the 3 bags of concrete .. suitably sprayed with a heap of water ..!!!!:LOL::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Another fellow zedder to join the Ute Club, my pics were posted a while ago :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
That front looks nice DUB, different not as agressive as the Maloo though But more classy. I was just wondering why are the back rims different from the front? And is it an SS or an S? And Loyde please stop your gonna make me cry. lol I said before i wanted a zed since yr 6 no joke, and i lied to one of my friends when we were admiring one on parramatta road and said it was my uncles. Ever since then and oncei couldnt get my uncle to buy one due to their price back then i was on a mission to make it my first car. Then when i was 19 i finally got one it was a 2+2 TT 93' with Black Leathers and beautiful black paint. Ofcourse after three months it was off to the scrap yard because i decided to go on that cruise while my high pressure hose from the power steering was leaking. Wanted to Impress people with the power of the Zed going around a corner very fast and the steering giving way. DOH! Lost about $25,000 too quickly. Then i got this one and done everything to it while treating it nicely that i hadnt to my previous one. Ofcourse it looks beautiful because of all the Unique features iv put into it and i can tell simply by the reactions it gets even though Autosalon cars are next to me or $100,000 cars are around. And exactly what you said Chilli i dont know what i got and its one of my downfalls i guess and looking at this forum and reading some people posting how much inlove they are with their car and etc i think either they are wierd having such attachment to a car or im just not feeling it. So i kinda want the car to go to someone who aprreciates it and has love for it which i have but not further then a machine that looks good. I tell ya if i can get $25,000 + an owner that loves Zeds and promises to keep it well and look after it i would, rather then selling it for much more. As for me i want to explore other cars specially European Luxury vehicles with oooompphh. M3's, Porsches and if lucky a 2nd Hand Ferrari 360 Modena in say 6yrs time.
