:`( :`( :`( :`( 8( I don't want to believe it!Two weeks ago as I reported in an earlier post an old Holden station wagon reversed onto my front bumper and damaged the paint! Today I went to pick my car up from the repairer. They did a lovely job. Five hundred metres from there I crashed it into a Ford Lazer while entering the South Road. :`( :| Luckily no one was hurt! I did not even see him until I hit him. There was a lot of glare from the wet road. Oh my poor car. It is a mess. The front bumper is smashed, All the lights are displaced, The fenders bonnet and the panel between the lights has been pushed back. :`( I was on my Way to Shannons to arrange alternative Insurance As the RAA cancelled my insurance effective 6th August because it is a grey import. I just hope they pay up for this claim. In 34 years of driving this is the first time I have run into anyone.I really wanted to take my car on the observation run on the 15th. Now it looks like that will not happen. Bummer.
Ouch - that really is bad luck >>> If that first guy hadn't reversed into you, you wouldn't have been there picking the car up, and the 2nd prang wouldn't have happened. holy crap man.. i cannot express how sorry i feel 4 ya ah. that has 2 be the worst luck ive heard in ages. I seriously hope things turn around n change for u for the better. That is just sooo . . . Words fail me. How can one person be involved in such unfortunate circumstances? To hijack your thread . . . Is anyone else disturbed by the current epidemic of members involved in accidents like Targa's flying off, kids hitting curbs, cars getting sandwiched into light poles, encounters with stray animals, and so on. What are we doing wrong? Is it time to stand back and evaluate our behaviour and culture before someone gets killed? There's been a few recent posts, some of them mine, extolling the virtues of "enthusiastic" driving. Do we need our own "police-force" to curb that behaviour on the road which we deem to be excessive and irresponsible? Or is it that I'm just getting old? Or want to get old?Sorry to be so morbid Doug.

I feel ur pain ! I recently crashed my 300 too ! I was lucky the accident wasn't my fault but the insurance didn't want to pay for repairs cause its "too expensive" to import new part to repair her. Good luck with the insurance !
The parts DON'T need to be imported.>> They will be available here(and cheaper than importing). Why import "new" parts for a 13yr old car:?) They won't be any different to S/Hand parts(which may be newer than your car, anyway)Most of the Zed's in this country, will have some S/Hand parts in them, somewhere.Cheers
Thanks for the support! I dont think there will be to much problem fixing the car. It still drives ok and the panels are not so much damaged as displaced apart from the bumper and lights that is. I am hoping it will just be a matter of straightening everything out. and putting it back together. The repairer is aware of sources of parts. The big worry is the insurance. The RAA is however the most reliable payer I know of. They are usually very good.An even Bigger worry is my wifes philosophy. She insists things happen in threes. :s Please God I hope not.
