I'm planning on converting the vert to a manual next year and am looking at different options.

Who here has a hydraulic clutch system set up in their car? What are your comments on your system and hydraulic systems in general?

    Thank you.

Why not fit the standard hydraulic clutch assy?

    That's a brake & clutch hydraulic setup

Erik - You would find it much simpler to go with the OEM setup.
Everything fits, depending on the condition of the parts you get, it may be worth considering new master & slave cylinders, or at least reconditioning, for trouble free motoring.

    So it appears I have asked the wrong question. I was thinking about this;

I thought that the whole system would change if you went with something like that but it seems it stays the same but just relocates the master cylinders to the pedal box location?

This is why I drive an auto lol

I'm confused -are you wanting to do a functional manual conversion? Or are you going all out on a "bare as a baby's arse" look for the engine bay? What you are suggesting is certainly possible, but fitting an OEM clutch/booster/pedal box is going to be cheaper and easier and do exactly the same job

I wanted to install a simple, clean looking system, not to necessarily look at stripping and blinging it to the extent of what some people are trying to do, but just have something that wasn't as complicated and messy.

Nothing complicated or messy about stock setup..

Much more work to install an aftermarket pedal and ressy set

Do you know how heavy the stock set up is? Would the weight saving gain be noticeable?

No idea but man does it really matter to you if the aftermarket one IS lighter? You're going to have to run booster lines, get the clutch line out of the cabin, you're going to add clutter to the pedal box... Plenty of easier ways to save weight (and that's assuming the aftermarket set IS lighter...)

Ah ok, fair enough, thanks mate.

tassuperkart Its a lie I tell you!

To be honest, changing away from a stock hydraulic system to a cable type (pull OR push) or in-cab master cylinders is pretty much change for changes sake.
Not to mention a lot of time and money purchasing/fabricating parts and fabricating into place.

I sure do get it if its purely for the bare-arsed shaved look but at the end of the day, functionality is exactly the same as stock.
