this thread has cost the forum. I have been in contact with Brupo and others. They all think we're a pack of dicks!

They cant understand how come we have let this go so long and why you guys have let James get away with it!

Fancy taking your money, making you wait 7 months and then trying to step away from any responsibility for loss of funds etc?!?!?!?!?

It shits me that all this is now coming back to people like myself who are trying to run legitimate business operations and are being asked if we are part of the Aussie forum that's ripping off people !!!

Do something guys.........there are ways to deal with this. Letting it go on just keeps doing more damage to everyone!!!

 

I agree with you on the part about this sucking. I'm not even involved but keep an eye here just to see when it gets resolved. Personally, I find it hard to believe James hasn't taken his own legal action against the importers, but that's just me.

But, there isn't much that can be done by the "forum" as such. A forum, by definition, is just a place for people to meet and talk. Moderators have power to control what is being talked about, but nothing further. So, tell all the people saying this is the "aussie forum ripping people off" to go find a dictionary. They might say James is ripping people off, that could be true (not saying it is or isn't) and if they want to do something about it it has to be them, not the forum. This is a private transaction between James and all the buyers.

The buyers have options, individually they have two choices. 1- ask for a refund or 2- ask for the product. If neither is provided they can then go through legal channels. The other option is for any number of them to band together for a class action to recover their money.

Again, the forum has no power. The ABSOLUTE MOST it could do would be for a moderator to lock this thread and start a new one for people to recover there money (this might be an idea at this point mods, maybe provide a locked comment at the bottom pointing to the new thread?). I doubt they can even give out any of James sign up details for interested parties to contact him directly due to legal and privacy issues.

 

I have to agree. That this "GB" continues without any evidence from James that these SMIC's are real, and in Aussie, is a shame. After all, I quote from his opening post: "These HUGE SMIC's are ready to be shipped off to Aussieland" and "You WILL receive your SMIC's by Friday 19th January." Well I guess he didn't specify the year. 2008? 2009? My post 3 weeks ago requesting some hard evidence has been ignored, and if his comments are true, then it shouldn't be hard to provide.

I expect to have some Z parts that I think will sell better in the US market, and will be bloody pissed off if this GB disaster sees me dismissed on TT.Net as just another Aussie scammer. Unlike you Mr Wildfire, ebay remains a positive experience for me as both a buyer and seller. Hopefully referring to my ebay rating and allowing payment by paypal will count for something.

Actually the people who are part of this G/B are letting it happen. If I was a part of it, I would have been seeking legal advice a long time ago. I even tried to rally the participants into taking some affirmative action but everyone is happy to stand around holding their dick waiting for James to cough up it seems

Whilst it might only be a "forum" and not have any real control over what business is conducted on it........any bad outcomes reflect on the forum and human nature being what it is.....the blame comes back to "aus300zx" .....not James........or his supplier........or the moderators that run the forum. I haven't heard one bad comment about James007 or the Mods. ripping off you guys but I have surely heard about the bad thread on aus300zx!

This thread.....or to be more precise......this bungled GB has now gone on for more than 7 months. Reading through the thread it doesn't take too long to see it going off the rails. Why wasn't anything done back then? Why leave a guy to continue doing business when all he does is claim to have delay after delay that are not his fault, shows no proof that the goods were bought, shows no proof that the goods were sent, shows no proof that the goods landed and then abuses members when they question him or ask for their money back. This guy has the audacity to say any loss of money is not his responsibility and that he was only collecting it from you guys!!!!! Good Lord.....didn't anyone think that maybe that was the time to do something or was everyone still going on his previous so called "good record"? Fancy letting that same individual run another thread selling more stuff on here when he had already stuffed people up for over 7 months?

These are questions being asked by some of the overseas buyers burnt by this GB. Apart from Pexzed stepping in and getting Brupo's refund everyone else that might have been expected to do something seems to have let things go. Brupo....or Brett as he is known....cannot comprehend how you guys let James007 go along for month-after-month holding all your collective money yet showing nothing for it!!!!! I have access to legal opinion and there is a definite consensus that more could have and should have and could be, done. Why hasn't anyone gone to the police or contacted Australian Customs with questions about, firstly who James007 is......all it says is he's from the MOON!!!!.........and to find out if a shipment of intercoolers has been delayed through customs. Here's a name for all you guys.......Shane Drew....head of Customs in Melbourne. Ring and ask him about this "missing" shipment. I'm sure I'm not the only importer with access to people at Customs who might be inclined to help or, might have some knowledge about all this. Lets not just sit and watch all this unfold just because we ourselves might not be involved but then look around in stunned amazement when the bad publicity comes back to bite all our collective backsides!


I'll repeat myself again.....I don't know James007, I don't know any of the Moderators who run this thread.......I don't care about this GB (personally I think a lot of you let the greed factor of getting a so called cheap buy get in the way of sound judgment!)......and i really don't need to get involved. But..............

I rely on the forum and the good reputation that previous sellers and previous GBs have gained from everyone out there. When that is damaged when it comes to me just because some fool has done the wrong thing and is now casting doubts and dispersions over all of us trying to sell stuff honestly......then I get upset and pen a post like this.

I'm as mad as hell with this and I haven't lost any money! God imagine how I would feel if I had lost $600 for the last 7 months and had nothing to show for it!!!! Imagine the poor buggers who took off their standard coolers and were hoping to put the new ones on somewhere back in February.......worse still for the suckers that sold off their standard coolers and now have nothing to put back on!!!

He considers himself very fortunate and has said some very complimentary things about Pexzed.......an email from him was forwarded to Pex........and the help he got in regards to getting his money back.

Problem is not Brupo........although his and a few other overseas buyers involvement might have aided the bad feeling....it's the 11800+ views of this thread that have done the damage!!!

Brupo has actually said that whilst he will forever be more cautious when it comes to buying from forums.....especially those conducted outside his country.......he does not hold it against all of us that James007 has not done the right thing.


Brupo is a decent, fair and patient man who put up with a lot of shite just because he decided to do business with a seller on "www.aus300zx.com". Shame the same cannot be said about JAmes007!

 

Youre right BruPo dealt with the issue as a perfect gentleman. Im sure if I was in his shoes I wouldnt have been as patient as him. I was just saying that if it wasnt for Pex hed probably still be waiting for his refund.

Yes. We have been very patient and have taken James on a huge leap of faith. I have been reasonably silent up till now as I have had much bigger issues to deal with than whats going on here. Besides theres been enough noise making this the biggest thread I've ever seen anywhere.

I have emailed James today with my demands or a refund, lets see if anything happens in the next day or 2

If Hyper101 has some better suggestions I'd be happy to hear it.
