Ok so my n/a zx is currently off the road as my harmonic balancer is gone and i cant get it into niall or eric for atleast a week and a half Im on my P's for another 2 years so i figure i will be most likely driving this car for those 2 years i hope So the cars recently been serviced and i had a fair few things done to get it past r/w etc. inc.. clutch, Machined flywheel, power steering pump, starter Motor, rotors and pads, clutch slave + master cylinders, power steering rack, Air Flow Meter and a whole lot of other little things... Not to sure about 100k service as the guy i bought it off didnt know a huge amount about what had been done on it... does have a sticker saying timing belt changed @ 130,000K its about 175,000K. coilovers exhaust etc done on it. Only other thing of which i have noticed with the car is the oil pressure seems to drop randomly to aroudn 2ish and i cant notice anything hugely different about how it runs when it does this so im hoping its just the sensor. Opinions etc would be great D CheerS! :zlove:
if in doubt, perform the 100K service. Throw in the plenum pull and deletes at the same time. Should leave you with a gorilla spare for a night out in the Valley to shed a quiet tear for the skin lost over the whole experience.
.........Buy my never ending friendship? Serious answer, when you take it to Niall, tell him to replace the Crank Pulley (Harmonic Balancer) and just go ahead and do a 100K service (Timing Belt, Oil + Water Pump, Belts, Timing Pulleys for sure). Honestly I would find it difficult to believe some who claim they are Zed-Knowledgable people yet alone a random kid/man/guy that didn't really know much about Zeds. MoulaZX
Hell yeah, carbon fibre bonnet. Way lighter than stock and you accelerate faster due to the light weight construction and reduced under bonnet temps from the sleak vents grafted into the design.
CF is no lighter than alloy, and if it is, the difference is that of a bird shit. Whereabouts in qld are you? can swing you a free harmonic balancer if you want. Home for R&R next wednesday.
The turbo encabulator is probably the best bang-for-your-buck that you can spend on your NA. It's sort of like the latest evolution of peter brock's 'polarizer' which he used in the HDT directors back in the late 80's. This video might help explain the turbo encabulator's role, and explain how it works: [yt]Ac7G7xOG2Ag[/yt]

North brissy, The Gap. is it for an n/a ? a couple of people have told me the TT ones work fine on an n/a as only difference is an extra groove for a belt
dude... im only stating that i had a spare bonnet so why not see what it looked like and kill some time since i was bored... no big deal? dont get why your gettin so worked up over me putting a few stickers on a bonnet lol ? is it your car?
But aren't there better things you could do to the car with that spare time? It just looks ridiculous and completely kills a good car lol. I'm not worked up in the slightest. Posting pics of that bonnet is going to haunt you throughout these forums, gotta get used to it No, I wouldn't be silly enough to do that to my Z.
big camshafts plus installation and appropriate springs......lumpy ish idle plus a little more power for the win!!!!
As you seem to have noticed the problems keep popping up every now and then. For now, do as much preventative as you can so you can to avoid unexpected surprises. Save the rest, you may need it
But in all honesty dude, i'm in the same situation with an NA. Just either save the money for a TT or buy things that are transferable from the NA to the TT, it's what i'll be doing...
