Mines been peeing out all over the floor so, I've ended up losing track of how much I've put in mine so far.8-} Tech Article reckons 4 and 5/8 with filter. Close enough to 5 litres I say.
I'm quite... ...pedantic with my oil changes. Always make sure the car is nice and hot and always place the car in a good position to drain, and then leave it at least an hour for all the cruddy oil to drip out. 4.3 to 4.4 litres is spot on for me. Cheers,
If you don't know the answer...>> then please don't respond. If you are guessing the answer then say so! Five litres is way way too much oil to put into a zed and is likely to cause prolonged damage (the rear main seal will leak with a fill using this much oil). The zed takes close to 4.1 litres including the oil to fill a new filter and NO MORE !!!!
I found about 3.5L is the go... anymore than that and the dipstick shows too much. I've drained as much as I can everytime, only ever drains probably around the 3L mark.I reckon the dipsticks on thes cars are hopeless, very unreliable I think and hard to read.I put in much more and it blows smoke increased amounts of smoke on boost until the levels drop to normal.
Just maybe? The Z has different sized sumps? Says 3pointsomething in the manual but always thought that was simply an error. If I only used 3.5 litres I reckon that would be far too low. Always pour in four straight out then top up when warm to the dipstick.
I've read my owners manual...>> and I think the NA is 3.4 Litres and the TT is 4.1 Litres. Having owned both type of cars I recall this is about correct (figures include oil filter).Cheers
NA also takes 4.1L The way to do it is pour 4L straight in. And then start the engine for a while, shut off and let it cool a while and check again and top off as necessary.
Thanks for rectifing my mistakes I'd hate to give out wrong information. It's something that I won't do again, and am really sorry, but honestly, mine's been chewing oil and leaking out (surprise, due to the rear main seal, and cam seals), however it was an existing problem and the previous owner told me 5 litres therefore natural assumption (and I know the saying), lead me to believe that, that was the standard. I'll be changing the oil once the leaks are fixed and now know that I was about to put too much oil in. Thanks John Cheers
Actually "JUST JAP" put 5L in last time! Hence my thinking the Zed took 5L of oil! Maybe they added to the rear main problems?!Cheers Grant:-Z
