How much did your rebuild cost?

I understand this is a very very open question and probably been asked a million times before, but there is no way I'm gonna search post after post to find out...

What kind of ball park figure would you be looking at for a complete thorough "performance" (let's say 350rwkw) rebuild on a Z32 TT engine, drive in, drive out? I'm talking engine rebuild/strengthen, turbos, manifolds, injectors/ fuel system, exhaust, clutch/flywheel, hoses + odds and ends, labour, tuning etc. The whole lot.

$20000? I'd love to hear responses from those that have actually done it.

How long is a piece of string?

The power you are talking about requires a lot of extra work to get it and then think about what you are going to do with it. Is it for drag racing, circuit racing or just being a dyno king. What do you want to use this extra power for will dictate what other things you need to address with the car, such as handling, braking, getting max torque to the rear wheels, what can be done to the car to lighten its weight and extra strength need to the body if racing.
Note massive power doesn't always equate to extra speed.
Let us know what your intention is for the car.

It's a kinda "How long is a piece of string?" thing...

There are so many paths to follow that it's an immensely difficult question to answer... I spent great deal more than Prockyz89 but, because parts were much more expensive at that time (mid 2000's), got less for it... Nowadays, as he can well attest, performance can be gained for a lot less $$$'s...

Go to Concept Z Performance... It's a rather good place to start... Work out what you need... Price it up... Add about 25-30% (to cover shipping and the exchange rate)... That should give you a pretty good idea...

Because you just can't compare what was spent 2-5yrs ago, to what was spent 6-10yrs ago, to what was spent 11-15yrs ago...

    Just my thoughts...

That said, $20K on engine alone, should get you awful close to 350rwkW... Just don't forget you'll also need the handling and braking power to go with it, too... :D

Well I spent about $10-12k just on replacing things that were broken with some future proofing, all DIY. No internal engine work. So that figure includes ball-bearing turbos with dumps and oil fittings, injectors in 300degree rails, Nistune/tune, clutch and flywheel, oil cooler (speedflow fittings and thermostated, could have been much cheaper than how I did it) and a bunch of miscelaneous hoses, clamps and bushings.

I did a TT conversion, including bigger turbo's, japtek intercoolers, 740cc injectors, clutch, UDP and other steering (FUCA, RUCA etc) components, and professional tune. The vast majority of the bits I used were second hand, and I'm getting 250rwkW @15psi. That's from my original 125rwkW NA.

All for about $5500, but that's a guess, and including stuff I didn't need and other stuff that could have been excluded (A/C regas for example). I guess it could have been $4k if I stuck with the absolute minimums.

And it's still not finished. Just ordered and am waiting for another $150 worth of stuff, and when that and everything else has all been fitted, I will need a re-tune (fixing a vacuum leak) and wheel alignment. So maybe another $300. It's never ending.
