    Hi everyone,
I think my Zed got some problem..... normally, How many rev can Auto non-turbo Zed go? my zed just go to 6500rpm from 1st gear change to 2nd gear. i think is the TPS problem.... but i bought digital multimeter yesterday, and adjust TPS to 0.447v when my zed run idle, and reset my ECU. the car only go to 6700rpm (shown on tachometer) the factory red line is 7000rpm right? why my car cant go to 7000rpm? is that my car got any problem?
Another thing is the odo meter. the odometer sometime work but sometime dosent..... how to fix it?

    Cheers,
    Jack

    red32 You talkin' to me?

The rev-limiter in my auto NA cuts in @ 7200rpm

but there's no way you want to take it that high too often. TPS voltage is about right (0.44-0.46volts @ idle). Have you checked for air leaks in the induction system? Has your gearbox been modified?
There's a tech article (see button at top of page) about fixing the odometer... mine has a similar problem, but it doesn't worry me. It just saves winding the clock back when (if) I ever sell the car.

My Zed just change the pod filter and UD pulley only... the gear box is totally factory. did you mod. the rev-limiter? my car cut in 6700 but yours in 7200 :embarrassed: 500rpm different:rolleyes:

Except for pod filter and cats-back exhaust, my car is factory standard

so far as I know. Transmission has never been touched (apart from normal servicing).
Also, you'll probably get more replies if you put at least your state in your profile... people are more likely to offer an assist to someone local rather than on the other side of the country. Look in "Coming Events" for an upcoming tech day in your area

I'm NOT saying there's a problem with your gearbox

all I've done is given you some numbers with which to make a comparison! It may well be that my gearbox hangs on too long at wide-open throttle before it changes.

Late thought: Have you tried experimenting with the "Hold" switch on the transmission (I assume your car is an import (1989)). Mine is a local delivery (ie initially imported and sold in Australia by Nissan, Aust.) car which has a slightly different setup than the cars built for the Japanese market.

    Tacho calibration needs checking

    Could easily be 300rpm out @ 6,700 > 7,000.

Use Nissan DataScan or ConZult to test.

I did an AT diagnostic checking. The error code is "TPS shorted or disconnected" How can i check where could cause that error code appear?

    Thank you everyone

    TPS

See Tech Section re how to set Throttle Position Sensor & also FSM section EF & EC for more diagnostics.

Not sure if the question was answered:wacko:

I'm going to be more specific though for my own car...is there a rev limiter on an import NA manual and whet is it. To make things a little trikyer I have a TT box, will the taco read high or low?

    Taco reads off the motor.

The sender in the gearbox may be different, due to different dif. ratios between NA & TT.
    This only alters speedo reading.
