Here is a tip for those installing HID headlight conversions in their Zeds. Some HID kits come with spade terminals that plug in the connector that goes to the standard globe (Pos and Neg). This is fine for cars that have low beam continuing when high beam is activated. Zeds toggle from High only to Low only. HIDs have a slow start so dipping the lights causes a momentary lessening of vision. The answer is to take the Positive from the standard connector and the Negative from short leads connected to the body. You now have HIDs that stay on for high and low beam.
speaking of HIDs what does everyone reckon about this??? http://www.narva.com.au/Globes_24.html i have no idea how much it would cost or anything like that, just wondering if anyone reckons it looks allright. LaterZ Chris :zlove:
Thats all good but what happens if you use your high beam when your low beams ARENT on? That means when u use your high beam to flash, your low beams will momentarily be switched on which is no good for HIDs. What you really have to do is install a relay that joins your high beam ciruit with your low beam circuit. I have done this mod which is on the FALCON japanese 300zx forum, had to translate it which was a pain. I might do the writeup for it when i have some time after my exams Cheers Michael
