Currently still have H3c bulbs in the car which are poor at best Thinking of getting a HID kit but wondering if anyone has any recommendations? preferably something that isn't going to draw to much attention but really improve visibility. Is it best to get a kit from conceptz or go with ebay?
There are problems with HID. 1. Legal? 2. Warmup time (black out when switching from hi-beam to low beam) 3. Have to mod this problem away 4. The LED option should be considered
I just got a $45 kit off eBay to use as a tester Work rather well As for not drawing attention you want 6000k And if you get high and low there is a grounding trick on the relay pexcom has listed that will solve that
I have for sale a brand new HID kit from a group buy some time ago that I never got round to fitting to the car. I dont have a zed anymore. They are the modern cars standard light range, 4500K I think, not real blue and not too white, so should give you the good lighting without attracting attention from the Police. I have both high and low beam globes with ballasts and the full fitting kit, so you can do both while your at it. PM me and I can let you know how much, Thanks Stuart
Thanks for the comments, I've been looking at the led kits, is there any preference on makes? I missed the group buy some time so unsure where to get them from other than eBay.
Some years back, I fitted 35w 4500k HID's. The warm-up does suck a little but they light the road brilliantly (pardon the pun!). 55w are much too bright for low beam btw & above 4500k the output does start becoming noticeably blue. Plan to fit the gb LEDs soon to another Z & take some on-the-road before & after photos (comparing original Halogens / $100 PIAA bulbs & the LED kit).
