Spray them file of the some of the crap not to file anything of and let them dry then reconect. Yes maybe. Cheers
I scrape the green or cruddy stuff off with a knife Clean them up with contact cleaner in an aerosol. Then go get some plastic grease from the model car shop, Like Tamiya. Its white, squirt a bit in each connector. Then plug the connector back on. That stops it from corroding again
Re: I scrape the green or cruddy stuff off with a knife Don't laugh, put some vinegar in a glass, and microwave it to boiling point. Dunk the connectors in the vinegar while hot, and the green crap dissolves almost instantaneously. Sometimes a few dunks or a bit of a stir around may be required. Worked for me during my plenum pull. Then I used some carby cleaner, followed by a squirt of wd40 (rp7) Greg PS boiling vinegar scalds just as badly as boiling water (go figure), so use care
Connector cleaning. Scraping of connecting surfaces and a spray of a connector cleaner such as one of the CRC products works well. For the very best cleaning I use a small sand blaster to clean crud of the connections, followed by a blast of air, then a spray of CRC. connector cleaner. Allow to air dry then do a very small bend of the female connector to ensure a positive reconnection.
how about leaving them in coke over night? Just a thought nut I might try the vinegar. Does the vinegar not work if it is cold? If so why?
Try cleaning the inside of your electric kettle with a couple of cups of white vinegar. Doesn't seem to do much while its cold, but put it on to boil and hey presto. Flush and reboil twice with clean water.
I'm cleaning the PTU, how careful do I need to be about getting vinegar or connector cleaner inside the PTU unit.
