maybe with a little bit of boost say pull up let the car idle for about 30 seconds turn the car of, and maybe just run in the servo and jump back in the car about 2 minutes later and when you go to start the car it takes about half a second to a second for the car to kick over. Like it dosent start normally when you get in the car in the morning.
I thought it was just maybe a turbo thing.

    Any thoughts

    Cheers

I've found same problem sometimes. Not always.

Pull up, wait 1 minute for t/timer.

    Fill up,

    Pay for fuel,

Go to start her, and she takes that little bit of a delay to start.

Always just thought it was due to the pressure being released when i opened the fuel cap.????

Would love to know the reason behind it if it's not due to that.

    Cheers.

Not a mechanic but always hear of fuel leak problems to do with the cap..

and I have been getting bad fuel milege. Would this have anything to do with your unusaul start up after fueling up (fate) and my starting up, like a fuel leak problem, pressure maybe.

    Shit that sounds confuseing.

    Cheers Ryno

does it do this any other time?

i don't have a tt but perhaps you just may have to wait untill the fuel pump gets enough grr in it.

same sort of princeple of kicking the starter motor over just begin ignition ( ie not letting it start,)
then kicking it over again, it will turn over two or three times before it wants to start, then the second it will start with one turn.???
    just a thought.

Your problem sounds a little similar.....>>

To that of Max (Max's Z), and after a lenghty investigation it looks like his problem is caused by leaking injectors. Try a search on posts by him or drop him a PM and compare symptoms.

I only see that if I stop the car and immediately try to restart it. After about 5 seconds, it will start as soon as the key hits the "start" marker on the ignition.

Think that is turbo timer though :)

Hey Wykked, on the teck day when they checked the car on ConZult..

they said that the left side bank of the cyclenders where not flowing right, that and the starting, could this all be linked to leaking injectors on the left side.

If so should I put in some of that injector cleaner, as havent got enough money yet to get my injectors done, rather get the larger injectors. I think you can only have 555cc injectors on a 89 model.

As I said not a mechanic, but somtimes can put 1 ad 2 together.

    Any help would be awsome.

    Cheers

It is possible, the power balance test on conzult works by turning off the injector for each cyclinder in turn and monitoring the fall in rpm to work out how much "work" that cylinder is carrying. Leaking injectors would still flow slightly even when closed causing the faulty reading in the test. Not that I am a big fan of that test as I believe it is a little inconclusive.

It wouldn't hurt to run some injector cleaner through them becuse if it is "crap" caught inside the injector preventing it to fully close this may get cleaned out. If your problem is leaking O rings then it wont do anything I'm afraid. You can fit whatever size injector you want to your car, 555, 720, or even the Border 850(?), but some will be easier than others. All will require changes in software and some will require more mechanical mods that others. None of them will be of any real benefit unless you are planning on fitting bigger turbos, becuse increased fuel flow needs more air for it to work.

    Clarification

Do you mean that it turn over a few times before she starts or do you mean that the starter motor doesn't start turning the engine?
If I sound weird then I would like to point out that my car sometimes sits there for a large pause before the starter motor actually starts winding the engine over... Maybe it's just my car

Our U12 Pintara could not start easily after a short stop

following months of enquiring about the problem with different mechanics, we were told dirty injectors etc... it turned out to be the simplest fix. Faulty fuel pressure regulator which I diagnosed!! 15 minutes worth of work. Has been perfect since.

    Could this be the cause?

    It could be.......>>

There are a number of different things that could be causing the problem and a simple process of elimination is the only sure way to find out what it is. The first step is to work out exactly when the problem happens, and when it doesn't.
