i serched for this and found one other topic with the same thing but it never said if it fixed it. my my Z is obviously curse, everytime i fix something, something else happens,... k here is my drama

car = auto TT 91 :zlove:

when i go to take off (foot of the brake onto accelerator) from a stopped start (only ever a stopped start) my car seems to hesitate for about a second, the revs drop by about 500 - 750 rpms then it gets up and goes, it just seems to stall but not go all the way, this dosent happen all the time, only sometimes but i cant see, to make it do it on purpose. im worried that i may stall (omg stall and auto, who would have thought?!) cause it seems to get worse, the other thread i found say bypass the det sensor just checkin if i should or is there something else wrong with it, plz help asap cause its my daily driver and i kinda need it soon./.... and its cursed. :(

Make sure it's set at 0.45v or thereabouts.

    yeah...definately.

Vacum leaks are more noticable from idle than anywhere else in the rev range.

When you open the throttle, it sucks air from anywhere it can, and if you have a leak then it'll suck through that. So now you have unmetered air and hence not enough fuel to mix properly, and you hesitate.

    You got a compressor?

If so use the tech article on vac leak testing and make yourself a attachment to place in the AFM and pump some air in there. I use a $50 12v compressor from auto1. Pump it up to about 5/6psi and search for leaks.

Sounds like boost leak to me...

You probably have a loose hose clamp somewhere etc... Search is your friend ;)

OdinZ is up your way, maybe he could help you out :zlove:
Though, Odin seems to have problems of his own right now.

I think i might have a vacuum leak going on too. I've been diagnosing my auto trans over last couple weeks. Had the trans serviced, TPS is set right, no other troubles pop up when i conzult the car, checked my line control unit. My hesititation and hard gear change from 1st to 2nd comes and goes, seems to get better once warmed up, also only happens at take off or slow speeds. My boost gauge needle is fluttering under vacuum just a bit, the needle sort of vibtrates in spots between -20 In Hg and 0 and this never used to happen. In general should the gauge read -20 In Hg when idle and at closed throttle? Mine reads about -17 at the moment. I'm going to get my mechanic to check for vacuum leaks when he fits my hard pipes and cleans throttle bodies hopefully sometime in next 2 weeks. I'll let you know how it is after that.

thank you for all your technical and advanced replys, but the problem was a clogged fuel filter, maybe you should edit that in the tech section for other newbs like me who do all those articles and fix it for under $20 :D :zlove: :zlove: :zlove: :zlove: :zlove: :zlove:

the fuel that poured out of the filter was BLACK, turns out the previouse owners probably have never changed it since it got here from japan
