Hi - Anyone know of a way to repair the surface of a leather steering wheel that has been worn, probably by rings on fingers? The leather isn't ripped or broken but the surface is no longer smooth and shiny just rough and matt.

    Any ideas appreciated.

    Thanks

agreed. The only things that can possibly restore leather to any degree successfully is a product called neatsfoot oil. It is essentially purified bone nutrients from the shins and lower leg bones of cows. Used to use it on my saddle for many years of horse riding. dunno how well it would go on a steering wheel though. I would personally put up with it or retrim the steering wheel. Using boot polish is a bad idea. A polished steering wheel sitting in what is essentially an automotive greenhouse will give off colour pretty much every remotely warm day.

    but now you ride a Z? :D

here's your chance to fork out on a hello kitty steering wheel cover. JDM Style:D

retrim it. but if you're gonna polish it, be careful what you use. i used silicon spray once and nearly crashed when the steering wheel kept slipping on my hands lol although it did note on the can to not use it on the wheel or h/brake...
