Need a bit of help from the Zed gurus out there! Drove my Zed to Wagga on Saturday for a mates March Out from the Army and it ran like a dream, although on the day before my wife had driven it and had a small problem.

On the way back from Wagga it became more regular.

It drives like a dream 99% of the time and then just stumbles exactly like it would if the key is turned to off/access. It only lasts for a second or two then it fires back up and runs fine again until it does it a little later:mad:. It doesnt break down or loose power, just a short sharp stop start and is often associated with going over a big bump but not always:confused:.

It seems to me that something is loose and have checked all the plugs in the engine bay (PTU, TPS, CAS, AFM etc) and they seem to be all secure, has anyone had a similar issue and what was it so I can check it out:).

Sounds electrical. I had the same issue with the CAS plug.

If you've check the plugs while idling and they didn't cut out with a wiggle then there usually ok. Could also be a loose/dirty earth connection on the block or similar.

Intermittent issues like this are the worst to pin down and fix.

Thanks Andy, yeah I think you are on the right track, and that seems to be the case. Gave them a good wiggle at idle and no dramas or cutting out. So I think I can eliminate them, maybe????? Might have a look at the earths though mate???

Stumbling Issue sorted guys, thanks to all who advised. ECU plug was found to be the culprit and no she runs like a dream. When the wires were wobbleb next to the plug the car would shut down or stumble. Hasnt done it since the plug was forced back in.

Not happy though, some truck spat a stone onto my new windscreen and the thing has a crack all the way down now, NOT HAPPY JAN!!!!!

    Hey Wookie
Try unplugging your Wastegate Solenoids, I had the same problems when at Cowra until I had them unplugged & have never had a problem since. Just a precautionary measure Matt, even though you say you found the issue with the ECU plug.
Cheers to you & Mary mate for Christmas.

I have had that too. The silver car stopped on the way to the emissions test. Started straight away and ran fine for several weeks.

Found it later when it got worse. Just touch the cas cable and it would stop.

Yeah they are long gone Kerry, done when I pulled the Plenum in 2005, I think she-zed was just having a 200,000km dummy spat, having ticked over that mark on the way back!
