    Hi guys!

I really need your help.. only out of one exhaust my Z is blowing an epic amount of white smoke but only one side?

Have rebuilt that side turbo, replaced pcv valve, done a compression test.. and it's still doing it?? The car runs fine, idles well.. ???

    ANY suggestions would be welcome!!

Which side exhaust and which side turbo was rebuilt?
And do you have a crossover pipe / H pipe?

    Sounds like turbo seals.

What does the smoke smell like?
Are you loosing coolant from radiator? (Empty overflow bottle)
Was the exhaust blowing smoke before replacement and that's why you had to get turbo rebuilt?

Are you by any chance Keira from Nowra area?

Did you check engine condition as suggested before changing the turbo seal?

Do you run merged exhaust like factory or is it split?

Can you get a vid of the smoke?

If its white smoke then its possibly a coolant issue. eg head gasket
Blue is oil, and black is fuel.
Pull your spark plugs and check them.

tassuperkart Its a lie I tell you!

Im guessing that the exhaust has a crapload of oil sitting in it from the previous buggerd turbo and its burning out when the exhaust gets hot enough.
if the oil made its way as far as the muffler then it may possibly smoke for weeks!!!!!

Drive it around for a while.

Yes I'm Keira from nowra, and all was good before the build, someone else suggested it may be built up oil in the cat.. apart from that.. I'm stumped hey.. I don't know how to upload a video on here of the smoke I could send one on fb if that helps someone helping me with this!!

Don't know if this helps but smoke still comes out of the exhaust even after the car is turned off??

I'm gonna go with shit in the exhaust. My car was smoking so it was cheaper to just swap engines for me. Exhaust smoked for a bit after the swap.

Its sounds like what ever is causing the smoke is still burning off inside the hot exhaust once the engine is turned off and may take a while to burn off if it wasn't cleaned out from previous turbo failure.

I had the same problem in my first zed years ago , I replaced the turbo seal but still had white smoke come out of one exhaust for about 3 weeks or 1000kms then it stoped might have to keep driving it unless it cleans itself

U have a fairly big exhsust, 2.5" into duel hotdogs, into duel mufflers with 5" dump pipes.. I haven't changed the exhaust since I replace the turbo, thinking it myt take while to burn out the build up crap???

Yep. depending on how bad the oil contamination was, it can take days, weeks and sometime months to clear.

so taking it for a decent drive for a few hours would help clear it out (a bit) yeah?

To burn out any oil from the exh system you are going to need a decent amount of heat in the exh. Taking it for a long drive wont actually get a lot of heat in the exh, what you really need to do is get it working really hard for as long as is practical & safe.

I would suggest taking it to the track and giving it a good bootfull for a few laps BUT you might get shown the way home for excessive smoke & possibly putting oil on the track LOL!

A few good hard pulls on a dyno that can hold the engine under load (such as hub dyno) should get the exh nice and toasty and will help burn out any oil really quickly.
The advantage of doing this on the dyno is if something were to show itself as a problem at least you are at a shop & not out on the road somewhere stranded.

From my experience in past with a turbo and motor rebuild in my Mums Cordia, it had the same promlem and it was just a massive build up of crap and oil in the cat. Im hoping and sure your problem is the same thing..... Another problem (unsure on Zeds being V6) is there can be a slight crack in a air hose that absolutely killed it for power and it smoked like a bitch.... Heard the slight Hiss found hose and fixed like new....
Hope that helps in any way
