steering system - from the high pressure hose I think. I think the problem started up at Thredbo and I did another 600Km after that but this morning when I went to drive the car there was a screeching noise coming from the engine bay when I turned the steering wheel. There is no oil in the filler container. I'm at Beaumaris in Melborne with a friend at the moment. Can anyone recommend someone near here that knows Zeds or power steering people who have serviced Zeds. (I do all my own maintenance but don't have any tools with me.) Any help will be gratefully accepted. Cheers. Clive.

just whack in some dextron III till you get home...

it's not the most 'economical' way, but you'll make it home... depends on how much you're leaking i suppose.

Thanks for this and if I can't find anyone who can look at the car then

I will do this but we were down here to do the Great Ocean Road and maybe continue on to Adelaide so if I can fix the car in Melbourne then we can go on with our trip. Thanks again for the reply. Cheers. Clive.

    Power steering

Give Graham (Tektrader) a ring - sure to get help down there. If the worst comes to the worst, remove (or cut) the powersteering belt so as not to damage the powersteering pump and drive (carefully) without the p/steering. Warning: It's heavy but you won't damage the pump. Happened to me on our wineries cruise...!!

Nissport open around 7am. They are only about 10 km from where you are.

Nissport: 3/233 Boundary Rd, Braeside, Call spencer on 0419-323-574. He'll sort you out!!!

Best of luck with your car mate, I know what it's like to be broken down 100's of K's from home.
