    Hi guys,

I am in the process of doing my plenum pull and I am about to replace the coolant hose as part of the bypass, I am now just wondering what type of hose I need?

I know it is 8mm, but is there a particular type or pressure rating required?

    Thanks.

    I think most ppl use

    High pressure (EFI) fuel hose.

I'll be starting this wednesday so interested to see what people reckon

I was told that EFI hose was unsuitable.

Apparently (not that I take Repco salesmen's word as gospel) the EFI hose is designed for fuel only, and because the fuel lines are not designed to take the temperatures seen in coolant lines, and because they don't expand/contract they are (apparently) not suitable.

    Where did you buy this?

I was told by Enzed that they dont stock any heater hose as small as 8mm, i think the smallest they had was 12mm.

    if you can get it

SAE 30R9 should be fine, of course most auto parts shop tend to just keep 30R6 or 7 which is nowhere near as good.

    follow up

just dropped into Coventrys, they had 5/16 hose marked 'EFI hose / SAE 30R9' as well as 'Heater hose / SAE 30R3'. The EFI hose was $9.50 / metre, the heater hose $12 for 2 metres.

The latter seems the go, I just wish I could find that site I had bookmarked that detailed all the SAE hose specs.
