Does anybody know the best place to get either a new one or a second hand one, mine is'nt good the servo that it's at said a new one is $388 or they take mine out send it away to repair takes 4 days. They recken there's about 1 1/2 days work @$50 per hr could end up costing me just over a grand, does that sound right.
Should be plenty available for free from members, always replacing with a aftermarket pulley, dont spend a bean... well postage and maybe enough for a 6 pack lol:thumbsup:
Agree with both Red Dwarf and Tektrader .... To change the pulley however is a bit of labour - radiator out, belts off etc. Nothing magical by someone who knows what they're doing ..... pls just make sure they know what they're doing. Zeds are a specialist vehicle. The cheapest per hour is usually not the cheapest outright where a Zed is concerned. Cheers, Peter
1.5 days to change a crank balancer pulley, what a joke!!! The first time I took mine off, no more than 2 hours. Now I reckon I could do it in 1 hour and that's taking it easy. If you need to take out the radiator, the puller being used is too big. All that needs to be removed is the fan shroud, radiator fan and drive belts. Use either a rattle gun to remove the bolt holding the pulley or get the right size 1/2" drive socket and a long breaker bar and move the end of the breaker bar under the driver side of the body and do a quick crank of the engine, you can then undo the bolt with a ratchet. Then use the right size 3 jaw puller and it comes off with hardly any effort. Now does that sound like 1.5 days?
Harmonic balance! whats wrong with it? has someone hit it with a hammer, is it loose, they don't where out. $1000 to fix, i dont think so! If it is,for whatever reason damaged, replace it with a UDP.
harmonic bal pulley Thanks guys, Tektrader has a good second hand one i'am picking up sunday. Mine's either worn or something when idle belt rubs against metal cover plate sheering fine bits of alum or steel and makes a noise when driving, belt moves back out away from metal cover.I think where the rubber seal is worn or something.
