When I was 15, I noticed a z32 300zx around the corner from my house. I used to walk past it every day on my way to school, and eventually, I fell in love. The owner had an Aus300zx sticker on the window, so I decided to check out the forums and look for my own. Now, this was a very unrealistic dream because I was a broke 15 year old. I was checking the forums religiously hoping that I would stumble across a bargain, and I did. A z31 for sale in Newcastle. By this time I was 16 and looking for a car to learn in, so Dad and I jumped in the car and went to go have a look. It turned out to be a heap of crap, so we turned around and went home. Since then, I have owned 9 cars. -AE82 Corolla -5 n13 Nissan Exa's (don't ask haha) -KE70 Corolla -2 S13 Silvia's I live in Castle Hill, and realised that is where all of the Tech days are held, so I came along to one at some point last year, and met a whole bunch of people like Theo (Anti), Chili, Arvin, SRB2NV, and a lot of others who I can't remember their names. After being taken for a ride in one, I fell even further in love. Now, my s13 was stolen about 6 weeks ago, I'd been saving for a while, and with that money plus my insurance money, I realised I had enough for a z32 I put up a wanted ad, and had a fair few replies but nothing was really in my price range, or needed too much work. Then a couple called Danny and Lisa PM'd me asking for my email because they had a car that they were contemplating selling and wanted to send me some photos. I saw the photos, fell in love with their car, and bought it that weekend. 1992 Aus Spec 2+2 N/A Manual 155.2 RWKW (UAS Dyno) 1 piece driveshaft extractors back exhaust with Apexi Supermegaphone exhausts (i think) 350z wheels slotted disks 100k service done April last year when the new motor went in. 2k front bar, rear bar(?), and tails Anyway, heres some pics Hopefully I'll get a chance to meet you all on the cruises and tech days Logan.
155.5kw for a NA? That is massive, and really impressive. Such a clean car, would be extremely impressed if I had have picked something like that up. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it? Just wanting to compare it to what I paid for my NA...
I don't want to advertise it publicly but I got it for a lot cheaper than it should have been! Add me on facebook man.
Looks very very nice. You took waaay too many hurdles before getting to the Z32 I had an N13 Pulsar at 16, and I kept saving up and not finding anything I liked until I jumped straight into my first Z32 Admittedly, I had looked at EXAs and Preludes, I was just lucky I never settled on one and kept saving.
Oh shit, sorry I just added you. I'm the guy who wrote on Theo's wall about the 2 silvers Zed's, with the one up the coast.
Certainly does look nice and clean! Good find! Z32's ALWAYS look better with all the orange lights/reflectors gone! What's that sitting in front of the gear stick, just below the DIN slot?
Its an Apexi SAFC II (air flow converter), and an Apexi super-ITC (Ignition timing converter). Still not quite sure what they do, or how to work them, but they sure do look cool
Best person to talk to about the SAFC would be Nem (srb) he's looking to install his soon. Believe it affects the timing and AFR? Someone feel free to correct me on this.
Safc bends the afm signal and is used to alter air fuel ratios. However in bending the signal it will also bend the .timing too. Very nice car though. Saw it at the last tech day. Leave the afc and itc as they are.
Thanks for that info! Yeah, I wasn't going to fiddle with them, as Danny (the previous owner) told me that UAS tuned them , so they're how they're supposed to be for the best performance.
I should add, there is one problem which the guy told me about before I bought the car. The speedo, and the power steering intermittently drop out. Its out more than it works, but it usually works fine while its cold. I've read that this could be the speed sensor, wiring or the speedo itself. I should note, that sometimes the power steering feels fine, but the speedo isn't working. Where abouts is the speed sensor located, and what am I looking for? I'm guessing its more likely going to be the actual speedo as its intermittent rather than not working all the time, but its still worth having a look. For sure man, when are you free?
Speed sensor on the gearbox. The steering sensitivity is decreased as you increase your speed (safety feature) so if the speed sensor fails, the power steering defaults to as hard as possible. Facebook me, I'm free most weekdays
