I bought one of these from ebay and have just installed it. I'm quite impressed with it. If your car is stolen you can track it down. I see the seller has another ten for sale starting at $195. Auction finishes Sunday. GPS Tracker
not a bad idea ... but why not get zed4life's "zid" , cheaper and no bugger will be able to pinch your zed in the first place ...?????:thumbsup::zlove:
Tow away Even with a zid, thieves can still tow or truck your Zed away. With the tracker you should be able to find it. You can send a text message that will cut the ignition, lock the doors, blow the horn etc.
Re: point taken ..sounds good .... Picked one up myself. Car now has it's own email address and phone number now!!
Only one problem with gps it has to be able to track, three saterlights a least to get a fix,if the cars under cover the gps wont work.
tow away ... just a second thought .... tow away or truck away ...??? where does it stop ???.. they could also bring in a helicopter and do a simple uplift as well...!!!!!:LOL::LOL::unsure::unsure:
Re: tow away ... just a second thought .... tow away or truck away ...??? I believe it can triangulate a UBD reference as long as it has mobile reception. Time will tell when I get it installed. But regardless, cheap additonal insurance for my baby for $195. Best part besides the tracking is to be able to dial in and listen to the conversation in the car, and also trigger various electrical conditions like remote FPCU cut off or screamer sirens etc. Gonna be fun putting it in. Cheers Greg
Good for hijacking too Cut the fuel pump via your mobile phone or someone elses mobile phone
Re: Good for hijacking too Yeah, hopefully never need it, but nice to have a little something up yar sleeve if the Zed ever does go missing!!
Re: point taken ..sounds good .... Where did you get yours from? The auction had already ended on the 19th and the seller wasnt listing anymore! I asked him whether he would sell me one, but no response yet
Re: point taken ..sounds good .... I just sent a Q via ebay, and then picked up personally and paid cash (I'm in Brisbane). Rob seems a nice guy. If you want his number PM me, I am sure he will sell u one Greg
Re: point taken ..sounds good .... haha, as long as it doesn;t lead you to your best mate's house LOL
I bought a backup battery with mine for $10 extra Just need to get a fast switching diode from Prime Electronics so I can wire it all in, otherwise if the battery is pulled, the system stops working. Battery lasts 24 hours or so. Greg
Re: Why does the diode need to be fast switching? Install instruction specify a "DIODE SCHOTTKY 3A" So rather than just use an ordinary diode, will get the fast switching one (Just in case). Greg
does this thing include any alarm with it at all. cause when i was looking into gps you could get a similar one that included everything for like 300
