Well, 12+ hours door-to-door (actual driving around 7 hours), a tank of fuel, and 400+km later, I think I can say that Kingy will have a pretty interesting map for the next GOR run (shame you couldn't make it Col!). Some photo ops, but I didn't take the camera, 'cause I thought we were going to spend the day exploring. Finished up with 8 (or was it 9?) Zeds, a nice lunch venue, and a bit of sunburn (ideal day to go topless). I don't think there's much left of the Otways to explore, and we found some pretty terrific roads... shame about the traffic! Had an excersize in long distance reversing at one point when we found ourselves on a gravel road, but I don't think that will be included. And don't worry too much about being stuck behind the local garbage trucks (apart from the smell)... they really get mobile! And get this... ALL of the interesting driving was UNDER the speed limit! What more could you ask for a cruise?

400km pfffft, the real Z cruise today was 717km door-to-door! Sorry Jack and I couldn't join you today; looks like the background work on the next GOR run has resulted in some interesting roads. However, our cruise today means I might be able to join that cruise - pleased to say that RZ2 was driven back from Canberra today, and early prognosis is that the heart transplant was a success! To make the smile even wider we took my new 18's up in the Ford so the Z could wear new dancing shoes all the way home. Gotta say I'm pretty happy at the moment . And is Jack smiling or grimacing whilst driving a red Zed???

I did that run a few years back..... he would have been near empty at that point so yeah ya can crank it on Mind you..... 4 hours later and he'd have been about as fast as a maggot off a chop ! Glad you enjoyed the day Doug

Top days cruise we had a plan...... for about the first 2 mins then it went to plan B ..... which lasted another 2 mins Enter Plan C.... we basically drive any road that looks like it might be fun......... & man did we find some absolute twisted twisties We met up with another couple ( new members) at Lorne ( after some confusion) and this brought our small group to a total of 9 cars, a good mix of us older farts , couples and young-uns with a similar mix of well performing TT's and stocky N/A's... a real cross section of what we'll get on the main run After we left Lorne we headed inland to our lunch destination..... via some wicked twisties This lunch venue HAS to be part of the GOR run, I think everyone would agree with me here..... good food and at a sensible price ( ranged from $17 down to $5 ) and I think only a couple of us actually managed to "clean our plates". Plenty of parking with a choice of indoor or outdoor eating + the option of a stroll through the "touristy things". We spent a very relaxing hour plus here and it was a well timed and needed break from the riggors of the twisties After a good feed and a wind down ZED decided that ZED had better go for a swim so we hit the coast again and he got to have a swim and "taste the water". Out our 2nd swimy spot we all had heart attacks after the local coppers rolled in & put on their fluro vests OH SHYTE ! Quite a few nervous minutes were spent sizing up as to who would be the decoy car and who'd do the runner .... we had our minds put at ease as they setup a 05 testing station PHEW Mental note to self...... dont pick spots to stop at that can double as a breatho site Lots of funny comments were exchanged after we realised we were "safe"..... "You know they only put on the fluro vests when they are about to do vehicle inspections" "the guy that owns that car... thats him down at the rocks stashing his coke supply " Must admit, I had a good laugh after the terror ! After that little episode we headed for the next coastal villiage and from there headed inland again for the run back to Geelong. I split off from the group just before the highway to cut off some unwanted Ks for my run home .... unfortunately i missed a turn and ended up in Forrest with the fuel warning light blazing away ! :bash: 32K's later and a spluttering purple ZX crawled into the BP in Colac for a much needed drink... same servo we all filled up at on last years GOR run. With my wallet releived of 'excess weight' I headed home to a bad reception.... forgot the missus was on night duty and I was sposed to do the baby sitting.... :bash: Yeah yeah yeah I'll be home by 8:00ish...... try 10:ish All up ..... I had a ball and could quite easily do it all again today many thanks to the "group" that came for the drive , hope you enjoyed it as much as I did Kingy p/s Col .... you wont belive what roads we found ..... but you'll love em
all in all , it was a great day ... we had heaps of fun , the road were excellent , . Simon and i have , water issues but will be fixed up in no time ,, but not mine because i cbf , lol , ill get around to it one day ..maybe ... thank you mr BADZX
