Col's been reading his detective comics again :p:p:p.
I'll say no more than that - I've told my story, from here on in it's up to the new owner. But some of the body parts I will be retaining will have magically become Gunmetal .....

Ah, RZM. Sad to see your relationship with RZ1 end, but maybe a better opportunity for us to see RZ1 emerge again with a new owner?

To all. I have to tell a short story about when I first met Mikey and RZ1. I live in Adelaide, and I'm pretty sure it was on Mikey's 2001 trip back from Perth to Melbourne that I offered for him to drop in overnight on his trip back. I'd never met him in person, buy hey - he was a fellow Zedder on the forum, and that's what you do :)

Anyway, the day that he was driving back from WA to Adelaide was a stinker! Around 40+ C, not a nice day for a drive. Ah well, luckily Zed's have air conditioning, I thought. Door bell rings, and here's this old bloke, looking like he was going to keel over on my front door step! Shit - must be Mikey's Dad, I thought. Nup. Only Mikey would drive from Melbourne to Perth in a Zed without a functioning air conditioner! 43C in Adelaide that day - what would it have been on the Nullarbor? From memory, an offer of a medicinal beer was rejected, but Mikey's preference of a glass of white proved equally effective.

After he'd recovered and started to look more like Mikey normally does, we had a quick look at his car. He ain't called RED Zed Mikey for nothing. The front spoiler had taken a hit from a fox on the trip and got cracked and splintered, so Mikey had fixed it up with RED Gaffer tape and a RED ocky strap - I'm sure he went hunting in the shops in the middle of nowhere until he could find red bits for the fix!

Also, if anyone wants any tips on packing a Zed, ask Mikey. His car was packed to the window line! I happened to notice while looking at the car, perched on the centre console within easy arms reach and surrounded with other stuff, was a fairly tattered old sandshoe, with an open packet of peanuts neatly perched inside the sandshoe - maybe the sandshoe added to the flavour???

Farewell RZ1, hope to see you again soon, and 'I tips me hat' to Mikey for being a true Zed ambassador and a good bloke! May you achieve all that you want with RZ2 :) :zlove:

    Dangerous and Trouble.

Would like to see the pics Ashhh, and progress on the rebuild. You have a car with a lot of Zed history there!
