speaking of my clutch problem i thought id drive to work today get me threw so tomorrow i can take my car to UAS to get it checked i was driving home in traffic and it became really hard shifting gears almost very hard at time i had to take off in 2nd gear then something told me to pull over i turned into a street then boom it wouldnt even shift..(when i was in traffic with the gear in the revs where under 500 about to stall) that how much clutch room i had left then i turned the car off put it into gear as it is easy to shift gears drove it up the hill only to find a break and clutch mechanic i was lucky the guy was closing up i told him the problem he said sounds like the hydrolic in the clutch....when i asked him a rouph price he said part is around $250 i found that abit pricey is that right guys because one of my mates has a v6 car aswell his cost $150..

    site

i found this site shows the clutch kit for a N/A for $145 hmmm why would the hydroulic cylinder alone cost more than that?

You will be looking at more than that for a decent clutch.

But i guess it all depends on how durable you want it. There are many companies out there that make good clutches.. But half the trick is a good pressure plate. No use spending $$$$ on a clutch witout a decent pressure plate. Money forbid you should maybe invest in a lightened flywheel seeing most of your running gear will be out.

Shop around before you comitt to anything.. Rule of thumb!!!!!!!

it depends what the problem actually is

did he ctually have a look at the car or just assume it's the master cylinder? It could be just a leaking hose or the slave cylinder not the master, which will both be cheaper. I don't know what the price of a new master cylinder is, but from Nissan I wouldn't expect it to be less than what he estimated.

It sounds like the master or slave cylinder is gone

It sounds like you have a leak in the hydraulic clutch system. either the master or slave cylinder needs to be replaced. like anything on the zed, i imagine these would be a real bitch to replace. It may also be a hose that is leaking. Get out there with a torch and see if you can see any signs of where it has been leaking.

    some prices

    Master cylinder from Coz: $US82.50
Can't find a price for the slave, but This post states they are around $97 new.

It seems that if it is one of these leaking, its best to replace both together (unless one has already been done) us once one goes, the other won't be far behind.

    cheers
