I have finally finished fitting the FMIC to the Godfather. There was a fair bit of additional work needed, including some custom intercooler and air filter piping. I took a couple of quick pics today. What do you think? Cheers, Peter
I was thinking the same as Wizard. Ah, air horns........... Looks great Peter, finally got to fit your driving lights.
looks great Peter only thing is you might want to relocate your number plate so it doesnt block the air flow to the top half of the intercooler.
Yep Pete, it might obstruct air flow a bit. I have thought about mounting it higher, i.e. just above where it is now. Even if I moved it half the height of the number plate it should improve air flow. Cheers, Peter
Yep, looks great, and one thing to just add to fleet's comment about blocking the air to the FMIC, it's not just blocking a bit of air, but specifically half of the air to 1 bank only! so one of your banks will run hotter than the other keep it in mind...
Oh Pete, and thanks for the quick delivery of the Apexi air filter. It arrived Friday. Car would still not be on the road without this. This filter is much smaller than the original HKS filter or the K & N I borrowed off IB. Even so, it only just fits. It's low, at the bottom front left and just behind the intercooler. It would be sucking in some fresh air - less like a self licking ice-cream - i.e. not sucking in air after it's been through the FMIC fins to be circulated through the FMIC for cooling. This is not a great pic, but gives the general idea. The AFM is bolted below the blue silicon hose: Cheers, Peter
Looks great After seeing your car before Ive only just noticed that your front guards are wider at the front am I right. Were they on the car when you got it ? Or did you buy them from some where ? Now that just give me a idea for my car lol
Yup Gonzo (Try again - dunno what happenend with the last post ) The front guards are wider than a standard Zed, as is the front bar. I think this kit is the only one of its kind in Aus. Cheers, Peter
Whoa peter I didn't know that the car in your signature pic was actually your car. I thought it was just a random picture of a show car zed. So was the godfather an ex-showcar from Japan when you bought it? Looks pretty hot I'd have to say. Could you move the number plate off to the side like the cars in japan have them?
Guess why my last post was so uninformative. You will create what you will copy or create, but no more pics. Cheers, Peter
Hi Andrew, Thanks mate. You could definitely fit this to a N/A, just not connect it.   Cheers, Peter
Yup, car is mine. Sigpic (now removed) was taken in Melbourne by RedZedMikey when I first picked up the car off the boat a couple of years ago. As best I know, the car was built in Nippon by a guy who owned a motor trimming business (or maybe he was just a motor trimmer). The inside has been fully retrimmed and he installed the bodykit. Recently a spraypainter remarked that the kit looked like a factory instal. Cheers, Peter
haha, yeah 'could' but would look like a w@nker! Maybe I should look at a TT conversion so I can fit one up oh and i meant FMIC not RMIC before
I have now deleted all pics of my car off my Pic Hoster other than the ones I took today that show only the FMIC. I want to minimise the chance of someone pirating my bodykit. (Guess you know how I feel.) Cheers, Peter
