    Hey,

Originally was the glove box unlocked using the normal key? or did it have it's own key? My key fits all the way in the lock but won't turn. Was hoping I'd be able to fix it... Would I be able to get a key made that will lock/unlock it and how common is it that they have a key? Could I buy the mechanics from someone wrecking a car?

    Cheers

Are you using the red valet Key at all as that wont open the glove box lock??

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

Is it possible to get a valet key cut up from your regular key? or vice versa?

If you study the keys, you will find they're the same cut but on a different blank.

    From what i recall.

    Tada!!

See the flats and valleys in the keys are different. This is all that is different between the two. The cuts are identical on both. Ti keys are made like the master black key.

That's very helpful, now I know what I need, can you tell me where I can purchase the blank glovebox key? A nissan dealer perhaps? Where'd you get the pics? :)

Its not a blank glove box key, its the master key for the car that you need! You can get it locally from your Nissan dealership for about $20 when i asked last week or you can get both delivered to your front door from eBay for $30! I would go the eBay option if i were you!

No worries, the thanks button is to your lower right ;):p

And yes, Nissan sells them directly, or a mentioned get them from off Ebay. Its all genuine old stock anyways.

And furthermore agree, you need the Black Master key to be able to open the glove box. Or... Go to the local locksmith and ask them for a early 90's model Nissan blank to have cut using the cut pattern from the Red Valet Key you have.

I had to do this to get a 'spare' key for my old black zed. Only had the valet key and got them to cut me a master on a cheapy key. Dog ugly thing it was.
