You've really piqued my interest now.
In terms of running it full recirc (which is what I'd be interested in only), what plugs would you need from GFB?
Is it these ones? http://www.gfb.com.au/products/adaptors/hose-plug ?

 

Don't quote me in this but I think yes, tou need one of those. You just have to block off one side and plumb back the other one...

Could you also confirm how old they are? As it seems like if it's a relatively old one, it will require an additional adaptor for the blocking off.

The first one seems to be the right setup for it. You can always go straight to a local GFB distributor and they'll find the right accessories for you. Just that bung to block off one end + the extra pipe on the other end to plumb it back... done!
