had a pretty good day today, woke up nice and early so i could give the car a last once over before we left but found it was raining...gave up that idea pretty quick lol.

drove up to homebush and met up with the first lot of zeds and started our late cruise down towards gerroa via royal national park.
met up with the rest of the guys at loftus, checked out the cars, had a chat and left quite late, around 1000.

the drive through the national park was excellant!, all but 4 of us got caught behind some green honda thing but the four up front had a great run, almost got hit by two bikers though:nono:

we got to stanwell park at around 1040 and stopped for a chat/cold drink before deciding were going to be late for lunch anyway so we shouldnt go through gong and kiama and just go straight through.:(

we got split up on the way there, i think it was around wonoona, new bypass being built atm so the road was weird.

finally got to the club, waited for everyone to filter in and relax.
lunch was pretty good, the veiw was awesome as per norm and it was good to be in an air conditioned building lol.
i got myself some nice sunburn due to having the targas off most of the trip lol.

will post up pics some time tonight or tomorrow before lunch.

thanks to all that came and sorry to the guys who showed up at the meeting places and left due to us being late, will have to have another one in a few months.
all in all i had a great day, a little to hot for a zed without air con but all in all a good day.

can finally put a face to some peoples profiles/cars.

    cheers

hope to see some good pics :p.. am adding my pictures up tonight sometime or tomorrow morning ..:p

BTW, on the way home, beware of honda jazz that think they are drift cars... LOL... i never knew those things could go sideways LOL.

Just got home about 20 mins ago(after spending a few hours at "Wizards House of Fine Food & Drink".
Good day out with lots of Zeds(but way too bloody hot). Geroa Fisho's was very pleasant & the food was very nice, the service extremely quick(given the number of people packed in there).

Good effort James, we enjoyed the drive and the company(the confusion with the detours was the only wrinkle) but given the traffic problems, and the fact that this was new to you, you did a great job under the circumstances.
Hope we can get a few more cruises as soon as possible.
Thanks for making the effort, mate.

    Hey,

    Sorry I missed it.
As you may have read I made it to up past Thirroul before major drama. I was waiting for everyone at a service station across from a beach and letting my car cool down. I was going to at least join up for the cruise back to the Rail but when it got to 10:45 I gave up as it was just too bloody hot sitting there :p

Turns out everyone probably wasn't very far away at that point, ohh well.

I'll try for the next one.

    You mean

Mr potatoe head in that hairdressers maxima.:p
Pleasure having you all there, enjoyed the gourmet meal:D and the company, how good was that southerly change when it kicked in.
Hotest cruise i have been on, ambient temp got up to 44 degrees through albion park with the water temp getting to 95 in the traffic jam, some were talking about showing 100 degrees.
Cruise organisation wasn't the best with the organiser dissapearing off up side streets leaving the rest to defend for them selves, not good james when you have people from Canberra and the central coast with no idea where they are going, need to regroup after traffic lights and keep the car behind you in sight.
Eventually we all met up again at the fishoes club where the air con and a nice meal were a welcome relief from the heat.
Only took one pic at Stanwell tops, wind sock in the background gives an idea of the hot westerly wind that was blowing.

I don't know what mr Nissan though of when he designed the cooling system. Surely it would be designed to work in 43 degrees, standstill traffic and air con at full blast without mr K-Zed's TWD's going off with blinking red lights everywhere. My 2 cars both went off but by turning the air con off (and almost losing consiousness in the heat) the light would go off.

We had an extremely leisurely drive through the national park, never exceeding 50kpm. There would have been 100 cars banked up behind the slow coach up front. (at least the TWD did not go off at that speed) Fantastic views at Stanwell and great food and views at Gerroa.

Thanks James for organizing. It was great to meet you and all the others. It was actually so good that we are still here. We decided to stay a couple of nights and ended up 10k down the road at Shoalhaven Heads. Internet connection on the wireless is very very slow, so no pictures until I get home tomorrow.

I heard from the locals that we were noticed at the fishermans club. (or rather the cars were)

not to sound like a smart arse or anything...

but when i decided to go around the single lane traffic i had four cars behind me, so yes i did keep an eye on the cars behind me but i couldn't see that far behind me.

    A couple of Pics

Who you calling potato head, conehead?

I happen to know that my ex girlfriend thinks Infiniti COUPEs are pretty cool viz her latest tat, but you can make up your own mind.

...and was it hot yesterday? I didn't really notice in that traffic as I had my air con set at a very pleasant 19 C without any worries at all. Perhaps I was distracted by enjoying a nice video in the cool cabin. :D

BTW Chillmeister, its a coupe, ie two doors not a sedan but it was more than 3 metres away from you so perhaps you couldn't see it?

    FLAME suit ready and waiting.

That southerly was a godsend, i think my car got up to 95 in the heat i dont think zeds were designed with 45 degree amb temps in mind lol.. i really enjoyed the national park, targas off = awesome:D Next large cruise cb radios are a must so we all dont get separated...anyway here are the pics i took, sorta cbf taking pictures by the end of the day..:zlove:

    Mate, not having a go

But offering some advice which will help you in future cruises
Great to see that you were interested enough to take the time and organise the cruise, something that has been lacking a bit in Sydney of late.
Having run and been in many cruises some of the following are recommended if everyone is to have an enjoyable time.
Plan the route, outline it on a map and give to participants at the start of the cruise.
Get a copy of paticipants and everyones mobile number and issue to participants.
Bring walkie talkies and select a channel, so if there are changes in the route it can be monitored.
probably the most important one is keeping the car behind you in sight, if the second last car has the last car in sight then were all together.
If you get split up at traffic lights, which is going to happen on large cruises, stop up the road and wait till they catch up again, nothing worse than going on a cruise and being left on your own.
All good, hope to be on your next one:)
