to finished off my already WONDERFUL.. year with a "bang". last minute decision to head to a nice little bay down south turned sour when i was refused entry by the police as " sleeping at a mates hut " was not a good enought excuse to get past the po po this year. anyway, thinking i was all whitty, decided to find a back track .. bad bad idea.. mr kangaroo decided to jump out as i was making my way down this skinny bumpy road,, i swerved (reaction,,, the worst thing to do) hit the gravel and began spinning around.. came to a stop.. car still running fine,, no dents ,, JOY!! try to drive off,, uhh ohh,, massive squeaking noises coming from under the rear wheels.. now the Z is parked up at a mates with ( at a glance, although in the dark) snapped wish bones andd a snapped tyre rod end dragging along the ground,, happy new year :bash:
Ah well, could have been a lot worse. If you've never hit a good sized Roo in a low slung sports car I can tell you that it's a MUST to avoid. Can't recommend the experience at all. If I was you I'd count my blessings, party hard, and apply for a Roo shooters license so I could get closure on my wildlife anger issues. Happy new year.
bahhaa yeah fairly happy i didnt collect it. and nahh mickw didnt even get to party!@@ spewing lol, hope you guys had a good one.
I feel you pain M8 but in a slightly different way. Heres the setup: New years day is bright and clear, a beautiful souther Tassie summer day. pack up a picnic lunch and wifey and me launch the "hell-boat" (14'9" Pride Cheetah with a 200Hp Mercury V6 outboard...think about it, this thing is madness...I digress). Take a quick fang down south of Huonville for about 15 K's for a look and then go back upriver to a favourite picnic spot as far up the river as you can go in a prop driven boat. We've been up there dozens of times, if not more over the years, in fact, just the previous afternoon............... Tide is pretty low but no dramas. Zoom along at arounf 25 Kts. KARRRUNCH/BANG BANG. Ran over a rocky shoal that has never been a problem.....until NOW! Pics tell a thousand words: Endo one entire lower leg/gearbox and stainless prop.....bah! The 5 kay paddle back home against the seabreeze was a right kent I can assure! L8r E
