Just wondering if anyone knows if there are gaskets between the block and the hard pipes for the hard water pipes that are visible. I'm wondering about the 2 that aren't visible that are connected to rubber hoses ??? If all that amde sense
are you talkin about the waterpipe that connects to the waterbypass hoses in between the timing covers?
You can get paper gaskets but a liquid gasket is perfectly fine for all those pipes and the water pump too.
I thought they didn't come with gaskets, I used the liquid gasket goo but last week when it was really hot I had put the radiator cap on and in the heat it started to leak out of one of those pipes. Would it leak if i haven't put the thermostat in perfectly ??? Not sitting properly in the hole.
Here's a pic of what i'm talking about, I'm talking about where the bypass hoses connect to the block. No gaskets at all ?? Do I need a special gasket glue for it ???
I couldn't find anything in the FSM. But yes, I would recommend you use a sealant on those hose inlets. I picked up a good one from Repco. Just tell them what you want to do. I think I have Loctite Gasket Sealand 587 Blue. http://www.ellsworth.com/display/productdetail.html?productid=1014&Tab=Products
