Garages installing exhaust

To me this is Zed related, so i put it here.

I bought an exhaust from someone earlier in the year and have to put it on yet. I don't have gaskets for it, i don't have a decent jack, and i don't have stands. So basically, i can't swap out the exhaust myself.

With the wet weather and me not having anywhere to store it, the polished exhaust is now getting surface rust so i need it gone. Now i'm thinking of just taking it to a garage and let them install it, but the exhaust has no cats on it.

My question is, will a garage have problems (morally and legally) about installing an exhaust without cats? It's a full system (dumps, test pipes, catback exhaust) that i need installed, and i do have every intention of getting cats later down the track, but for time being i just need my exhaust replaced.

I don't want to start calling places up and getting rejections because i really don't have the time, so figured i'd ask here, i'm sure someone here has experience with this.

    Cheers.

Some garages would probably do it for cash/without receipt if you ask around. Why risk it though? Just get em to install some high-flow cats with it...

Agreed. Will be cheaper to get it done now.

There are lots of types of stainless - some of them do get surface rust. Exhausts are usually made from that type. My yew-bewt UAS full stainless system gets a bit of rust on it.

If you intend to change the dumps as well, I wouldn't take it to a garage. Dumps can be a b*tch to get off and exhaust shops have much more experience in doing it.
