Anyone know what it costs to have a Z32 vinyl wrapped, and where in Melbourne can I have it done?
Nope, don't wanna do it myself.

Yah. Professionally done, 5-6k. It costs as much as a respray.

Eli have a search in the business section...there was a thread on somebody that does it locally. When i enquired about it, he quoted me 1.5-2k i believe if i remember correctly. Hope that helps.

You're not thinking of wrapping your red car with the fresh paint are you?

Oh and I can't see a wrap costing as much as a spray -less materials and time involved

Go to www.racepaint.com.au and check them out. They have done some work on my race car, and they covered the Crocitti cobra in State Race Series sports cars.

They will need to quote you, but I would expect a price north of $3K at least for a Z32.

Rob, I am bro. Seriously thinking about it. Got some hail damage and other little things (body only) here and there that need some work so just looking at this option. Not a carbon fiber look, more a satin grey or red to match the bay...

I bought a property recently, got engaged a month ago and buying another plae soon so need to get pretty tight with my money.

Selling the car as is is an option for me as we'll at the moment.

    Just thinking out loud here.

Murci, who wrapped the "Sealth Zed", quoted me that figure. The labour required is intense. The only people that do it in Australia are those that do the work themselves...

And that car now looks worse than some things I've seen floating in a sewerage treatment plant

    Always looked shit IMO.

Eric's looks good, but he only did the big, flat bits...

    No sh*t, pretty harsh words...

Might just sell the car as is if it's going to cost too much. Should still get a good price. Good motor, new box, clutch, one of the nicest quality interiors... hmmm...

The wrap is coming off the car in sheets and has gone a bit funny from the sun.

I'll give you $500 for your seats :p

But seriously, zed's aren't worth selling. Put it in the shed and worry about it in a couple of years. It's too nice to flog off to some bogan who will run it into the ground or a power pole.

Can't you make an insurance claim against the damage?

good 5k+ from a shop. Theres a few places doing it but they are few and far between.

I think i used about 30m of it, around 700 bucks IIRC...

The 3m stuff has a 7 year outdoor warranty i think it was.

They wrap exotics with it, the reason the stealth zed is an abomination now is piss poor care by the owner(s). It took me a good 7 months and the difference between the first panel and last was non existent.. it all looked the same. i garaged it and took pretty good care of it.

Think what you will but anyone that saw it in person when i had finished would vouch it looked spotless.

In saying all that, i would get a respray over a wrap haha.

Eli, look up some wraps on youtube.. specifically the Mercedes McLaren.

hehe, don't tar all engineers with the same brush, I just happen to be a engineer who is also a tight arse low-baller :p

Last time I saw it you'd think it was done 10+ years ago  The owners after you did not treat it well at all....
