Finally I got back to 300zx family again in HK. Didn't touch with 300zx for 7 years time since leave from Aus. (Because of HK stupid insurance system... ) I am planning to get a AMS 3" dump pipes and Z1 3" cat pipes to match up with my 3" veilside cat-back system. Anyone know that will AMS 3" dump pipes have clearance problem with the RHD steering column? or any difficultly with the installation? Will it be too large if I run for the stock turbo? Here is my New 93 Turbo MT Zed direct imported from Japan :zlove:
Clean looking Z you have  Yes it has been documented that some have had issues with the (RHS) AMS dump pipe fouling on the steering column. The 3" AMS dump pipes are for a 5 bolt turbine housing, standard is a 4 bolt so they are not compatible with standard turbos.
Apparently available in 4 bolt too, http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?products_id=3359 I haven't seen AMS down pipes installed but I've seen Z1 2.5" and some other 3" split design and both had clearance issues, readily fixed with a propane torch and a hammer if that kind of solution is acceptable to you. If you want something better designed to suit a RHD car member and moderator here Rob260 is/will be producing some here in Australia although I'm not sure if he can do 4 bolt versions easily. Edit: Doesn't look like he does 4 bolt and the price tag is in a different bracket to the AMS gear, If you want guaranteed fitment on a RHD Z I think they might be the only option though. http://www.rgsperformance.com/product/non-turbulence-dump-pipes-for-nissan-z32-300zx-twin-turbo/ They're also a different length so you probably need some modified test pipes.
