Fuel temp sensor

I need a fuel temp sensor is it advisable to buy a new one say from Nissan or is there an alternative many thanks for any advice.

Ran that VIN through Nissan FAST Australian & JDM Z31 series & nothing loaded.
Are you sure that's the correct VIN?

 

Back in 2008 the original comp plate was missing, the car was inspected and checked here in SA and a replacement label [new type] was issued from the Transport Department ,so I'm not sure if that is the original Vin No [which I don't think it is] and another number was created to comply'. The vin No is HGZ31311680 Engine No VG30408605A. The build date label was June 1985 and sold here and registered in 1986.

 

Z32's have the VIN stamped into the firewall at the rear of the engine.
Perhaps Z31's have it stamped in a similar location.

Yep same number on firewall bulkhead Could be a grey import?

 

Are you sure you're reading the number correctly?
The VIN: HGZ31-311680 doesn't show up in Nissan FAST.
That number appears to be a JDM number.

 

sorry for confusion the build date is June 1985 unsure of history between that date and 2008 when new vin number issued so it looks like it was imported sometime in between those dates. But not entirely sure.
