The wife's 2+0 NA auto wouldn't start on friday morning. No problems prior to that, its been very reliable so i thought the old S1 ptu had finally died.

No problem there as i bought an S2 ages ago. So i fitted it on saturday, fired straight up before i'd bolted everything back up but ran pretty rough. I checked the wiring again and it was correct so i put the intake pipe back on and put the ptu on properly.

Started perfectly and ran nice on a strap around the block so i'm thinking great.... fixed

Come sunday night i went to move it and guess what?????

Started for a few seconds then spluttered and stopped.

I didn't check for spark but i noticed the fuel pump wasn't priming when the key is turned on. Loosened a clamp on the fuel filter and no pressure.

So i tried a FPCU bypass. Still nothing....i'm thinking the fuel pump has died but it just seems strange that it started and ran earlier.

I pulled a spark plug and it was bone dry. Tried to get a voltage reading on the terminals in the plug that the FPCU bypass is done on but nothing there.
Not sure what should be there but i would have thought something.

    Anyone have any suggestions?????
How can i test the pump????

    Checked the fuses?
do you have a testlight or multimeter? test voltage at the wiring leading to the pump to make sure it has power there.

Got it going but I didn't really do anything

Came out this morning and it started so I put everything back together and been driving it.

Bit of a worry it might be an intermittent problem....not good for the wife

Thanks for your reply Carter cheers
