Help Req'd in my 2 seater there is a significant noise in the back associated with the fuel pump or the controll unit. Its a really loud buzzing noise which you can hear all the time. It used to be just on start up when priming but its now all the time...and it is annoyingly loud.... Also i noticed some fuel comming out of the filler cap when i park up and i ge a fuel smell in the cabin.....i think they are farked I will likely replace one or both of them so Is it the fuel pump or the controll unit???? any how too's on this??? Prices for both??? and where to source??? My na is stock ish...but should i upgrade them, im not really bothered but do i need too. Might as well for out the few extra $$$ if its worth it. Cheers -Pete
some answers.... firstly, the buzzing noise coming from the back is the fuel pump... secondly, the fuel coming out of the fuel neck area is totally separate to the function of the fuel pump or fuel control unit.... you need to remove the fuel neck, and reseal it with some sikaflex or other appropriate compound... Cheers
Constant buzzing may be a prelude to complete failure. Not of the fuel pump, but the control unit, FPCU. Read TA's in Tech A-Z re bypass and repair. Tip: carry a spare FPCU or know how to bypass it.
You need to reseal your fuel filler cap. Because air can escape (and petrol) your fuel pump can't pressurise the tank. So it will continiously run. Fix the fuel filler and it will be OK. I had the same problem. Good luck Donovan
