OK, fitted inline fuel pressure gauge to my NA:cool:
Tested as per info I found online, disconnect vacuum line from reg started car.
According to my research pressure at idle should be 43.4 psi, mine is down 7.4psi sitting at about 36psi. I will monitor tosee how much it drops after sitting for hours.
My question is how do I now determine which part is the issue? FPCU, fuel pump, pressure reg or fuel damper.

    Thanks in advance:zlove:

Are you sure you are not removing the damper vac hose rather than the regulator ?

Fuel pressure check on page EF&EC 185 of manual.

Regulator on left/passenger side of car.

Damper on right/drivers side, they look similar.

    Problem found, I think
Car has been sitting for about 1.5 - 2hrs now, just checked pressure gauge 0psi:eek: so spoke to Eric A2Zed thanks for your advice mate. Pretty sure it will be fuel pressure reg.
So I've ordered one will get it tomorrow. Genuine Bosch part. Fingers crossed
Looks like I found out why the car is hard to start:)

    UPDATE>>

Success at last, the old pressure reg had a hole in the diaphram which ment the fuel system would not prime:eek:

Anyway new reg fitted & all working fine:)

Thanks again to Eric at A2Zed for giving me his time over the phone to diagnose the problem:):)

You're a legend mate, I have never even been to your workshop & you still gave me your time & advice for no more than a thankyou:zlove:
