    Hey,

The fuel door on my 300 is stuck and with 380km out of this last tank of gas im not to sure how much further i can drive it

When i get someone to press the thing next to the driver and i stand at the little fuel door i can hear the cable moving but cant pull the door open and its not springing open.

Anyone had this before and have any idea if there is a way i might be able to get it open without jaming a screwdriver in there and breaking it open.

    Thanks,

    Josh

Remove the inner boot trim near the left hand rear speaker/Tail light and you will see the cable connected to the fuel door. Get someone to work the cable release, and you will see what pops it open, then just adjust the cable so that it works properly. When you get in there you will see how it operates, and all this will be much clearer(I hope).:D

I've had this a couple of times

When you get it open, check to see if the metal rod that goes through the hinges of the fuel cap is through both the top hinge and the bottom hinge. Mine was just through the top one as had slid out from the bottom. If you have the same thing, try pushing it back (not with your fingers as its old and probably a bit stuck and your skin wont like it) :)

i had a similar problem, and it was the metal rod like shifter mentioned, what i did was pull the lever and it would only just move but not open so i had to use a small flat blade screwdriver to the just push the little plasctic bit behind the flap back and then pull the flap open by hand and then use needle noce pliers to push the metal rod back down

    Thanks

    Thanks,

Would this be different on a 2 seater...i've taken the plastics off from behind the light and the left side of the car but it looks like i might need to take off the lining thats around the small little window that does not open. I can see where the cable goes to but cant see the latch etc...yet...

    Spewing....

When i did this i started in the middle of the boot and took the plastic off all the way around on my 2seater to get the cable and put it back in was not hard just a pain pulling all the plastic out though. you can always jus pull of the cap over the wheel arch and tug on the cable to open it but that gets to be a pain after a while.

    Just actually snapped my cable

just near the lever in the cabin.
Got a new one from Cresta today.
Awkward but relatively straight forward to do.

In my case I pulled up at a servo to put in fuel and couldn't open the filler door.

Lucky I was close to home, should have it back together tonight :D

That is one LOOOOOOONG cable :D
