No the fuel light didnt come on. I had the

arrow on the white fuel empty line and no light showed up. ALSO the guage sometimes moves up and down its self, not largly but maybe moves approximattly 3mm, like it will move down and then go up.. Could it be that the fuel Guage is faulty, if so how can i get it repaired or checked?

How on earth do you get 9L/100km?

Have you done anything to your car to make it fuel economically like that, have you de tuned it or something? PLEASE TELL me how you get that kind of economy, mines like almost double that!

    My fuel gauge.....>>

Has not always been the most accurate gauge in the cluster, but I've always found that when the light came on it would take roughly 60 liters to fill the tank. Several times I have driven considerable distances with the light on, but the most I've ever had to put in was just on 70 liters. Before you rush out and spend money on fixing/replacing your gauge try seeing if you can drive till the low fuel light comes on, and how long after the car gets to empty that happens.

    why dont you check

why dont you guys check your AFM;s?? i get 160 km/s for 20 litres of fuel and thats mashing it..thats all i put in it btw hardly drive it as it is rough math gives about 480 km to the tank give or take a few litres

    That's mainly highway figures, Maciek,

using cruise control set to local speed-limit, OD 4th gear and torque converter locked up. Obviously it uses more fuel around town, but I cant measure that as easily... the odometer doesn't always work. The O2 sensors are stuffed and the car runs really rough ATM... it'll be interesting to see what mileage I get when they are fixed (real soon now). As to mods, I've no idea what's been done prior to my ownership although I believe it was stock, and all I've done is fit a unifilter pod and a 2.5" cats-back exhaust. It's currently putting out about 145kw, so detuned it's not!

SImple fix is replace the Low fuel light

Very easy to get to it in a zed (one of the few things that zeds are easier at than other cars to do)In the Tech section, you'll find a lnk to this site which details how to get to your instrument cluster. Just ignore the references to indiglo dials...

    His light is probably working......>>

He said that he has not put more then 50 liters in it so he probably hasn't run the tank low enough for the light to come on.

    Fuel Gauge

i was fairly happy with my gauge when the first half i did 240km then the next half had gone in a little over 80km, was a bit worried about the consumption until i went to the local shell and topped up the tank again and found it only took 38 litres to read full again . So im happy with the fuel consumption but do all fuel gauges read that bad and also show empty when there is still 30 litres to go?

RedZedMikey RZM should now be DZM

My TT on the same run scored 10.47L/100km >>

Doug and I travelled together on that Mildura run. For that whole weekend I used 131 litres and travelled 1252km. I also need new oxy sensors and will be fitting soon. If the stories about improving economy AND throttle response off idle are true, I'm looking forward to the improvement.

When my fuel guage first hits "E"

the tank will only take 45-50litres. Just take it as read that you have a 20-25litre reserve which should be good for 150-200km depending on your car and how you drive it.

Went on the Gippsland cruise with PLAYRZ last weekend over some really mad twisty up-and-down roads (those Gippsland guys are crazy... the only way I was game enough to stay with them was to get in front and block them. Jedi, you would have loved the roads... they don't paint white lines along the edges because there isn't room between the hardtop and the vertical drops to the side, no fences either). Worst fuel economy ever! Used 58L for round trip of approx 450km (odometer unreliable) =nearly 13l/100k. Lotsa fun, tho!

Hint: Never try to order a sandwich at Paul The Pieman in Inverloch... you won't get served even though rolls and sandwiches are on the menu.

So what would be the first thing i should do

Should i go to a mechanic and ask them to give it a tune up or should i go get then fuel tank guage fixed or what? Because by the sounds of all the replys it sounds like mines WAAYAYYY off the consumption to other Z's. Also what mechanics a good one in Melbourne/?/?/?
