hey guys, just wanted to know if anyone around would know where i can get a front clip (think thats what its called) or an engine block. preferably around the tas / victoria way. just if you know a wreckers that has them or a Z shop, only had my car for a short while and am looking for a TT engine (does it matter about different transmissions?). if anyone knows of some where please pm me (and yes i searched)
glad you searched, but you must have searched the wrong thing... hehehe your 'front clip' is usually called a half cut or front cut... Not sure where to get one from your area but it'd probably set you back 2.5k+ depends on your tansmission, but the NA manual and the TT manual have different bell housings... Either install the one you get from the halfie or if you have a NA manual tranny, you'll have to shave the inside of the housing out to get the tt clutch and fly to fit in snug. nah man im not doin a conversion, enigne died on me, was seeing if it would be cheaper to just switch another one in instead of getting mine rebuilt, really really strapped for cash and my Z :zlove: is my daily driver and it has been 2 weeks now.... my legs hurt its a TT auto that i have now
To give you an idea, I sell good second hand engines anywhere from $3000-$3500 complete. A half cut is going to cost similar. If you find that you can get away with a bottom end, let me kow, I may be able to help with that. Cheers John
