Drove my Z round the corner to get an icecream tonight, this is gunna be one expensive icecream. On the way back on a straight 70kmph road i saw a street cone ahead of me but didnt have time to break and couldnt change lanes, it cracked the front bar (vielside) right through the centre. I can probably repair it with fibreglass bog, sand it down, repsray and buff but i'm worried about structural integrity. A replacement is probably the best solution but i simply cannot afford one before the car has to go over the pits (see yellow stickied thread). It's not so #*@#%ing funny when youre the person driving the car that hits a street cone placed on the road by fools, something their small minds will probably never comprehend. I'll take photos tommorow, when i've calmed down enough to hold the camera and there's reasonable light.
unluky man, hope the repair comes up easy, possibly put the word out and see if you can borrow a bumper for the pits?
Regardless of the idiot that put the cone there, you should have been able to avoid the cone if you had been paying attention. You just don't run into a bright orange cone on a straight road. Anybody with a fibreglass front bar should be prepared to repair it every so often, specially if the car has been lowered. Get some fiber glass mats and resin and get to work
unfortunately this was at 930 at night and the road was dimly lit, perhaps with better headlight globes.
F**kers Similar situation with me once before but there were little kids probably around 8-12 pushing wheelie bins onto the road at a sharp turn at the bottom of a hill. Sorry to hear mate. hope repairing goes well. :zlove::zlove::zlove::zlove: Jack
was gonna say the same thing... which veilside bar do u have if its a II dont bother with the repair... just put on a stock i dont think its worth the repair..
haters. Just get it repaired, same sorta thing happend to mine cost me 110 to get professionally repaired.
unfortunately i dont have the original one, along with many of the other aftermarket parts. i'm repairing it myself at the moment.
