Did some more polishing today, and cleaned up all the sealant off the cam covers and oil pan. Block and heads are goin into the shop on Monday. Surprised how nice the water pipes show up from just a bit of sanding and polishing.

Hi Gibon Tamer....would you be so kind as to measure your one piece drive shaft for me...I need to get one made up and cant get the car to the drive shaft shop. Was going to measure box to diff but an actual measurement from an existing one piece would really help make it perfect.
    Cheers

Update... Ok so i picked the block and heads etc up from Harris motors in Osb Pk on Friday. Cant complement Harris Motors enough for their promptness, customer service, workmanship and cost. Ended up costing less than quoted price (that was cheap anyway) and all done even quicker than promised.

Drove down to Chris's this morning to start putting everything together. Started with gapping the rings, fitting them to the pistons then fitting pistons to rods. Also fitted new studs and few little things here and there. Also found out my fly wheel was about to bloody shatter do to it being cracked all over.
Couldnt do anymore cos i forgot to bring down a few bits n pieces. Will be back by end of long weekend so we can finish assembling the motor and get her back in ASAP. Cant wait to drive it again. Big thanks to Chris for his wicked work, advice and showing me how its done. Here are some pics

haha cant remember, Chris looked the gap up and we gapped it to mid range. No need to go low or higher end of the scale. Just after a safe ring gap so i dont have any issues by havin a too big or small gap. Only have to touch up a few of the rings, they were pretty spot on which was good

    update

ok, well WA day well spent... drove back down to Chris's got on the red bulls and continued assembling the VG. Spent around 7hrs on it and got a whole heap done. Might be back sunday ( if weather permits) to finish it all off. Had to wait for the arrival of my BDE adjustable cam gears that arrived today.
Big thanks to Chris at JDM Performance for his 100% work and for taking this whole build on at such short notice.

Not gonna run a twin feed fuel rail? Also damn those BDE gears are nice, gonna send my NA gears off to them to put their adjustment kit through em!

na man, can always do that later if I need to with the engine in. The stock one manages just fine.

Il be re-arranging all my oil lines next... Got oil filter relocation going where my catch can is currently. Oil cooler will be run directly to sump in new 10mm line, the catch can will be going in the battery tray and the battery will be relocated to the boot, so I got plenty of other work to keep me busy.

Fair enough, considering the ease of the job with the engine in its current state though, I think you're mad not to!
Loving how fast this is coming along too mate!

So the engines all back together now thanks to Chis at JDM automotive. Went back down to his this morning and got to it straight away. Spent half a day finishing it off. Wrapped and installed dumps, installed new BDE cam gears, replaced all water and oil hoses and wacked on the new timing belt.

Im still waiting on a new flywheel from Coz that's due here on Wednesday so hopefully il start putting the engine back in this weekend. The oil filter relocation kit should also be here by the weekend so I can start re-routing all the oil lines.

Your tensioner looks a little tight. I had one of those gates belts and it seemed to shrink somehow, ended up using all the tensioner slack up and delaminated the blue stuff onto the idlers

The tensioner is on as loose as itl go. Prob the angle of the photo that makes it seem tight. Il take couple more pics this weekend wen il be putting her back in
