sounds like you got aus spec indicators placed in the fog light location. you could take out the crappy aus spec clearance light / indicator combo and put the fog lights in. problem is, if whoever complianced the car put the dummy indicators in too, you'll have no front indicators at all once the fog lights go in. fog lights are NOT aftermarket, that is stock JDM equipment which you don't have anymore because some shop wired in aus spec combo lights.
but can't I put the altezza side half moon ones back in as indicators mine should be a TT jap import 1989
sounds like they changed the wiring too so there's no wiring for the side indicators. a shame really. you're gonna need to do some loom splicing in order to return it to its former glory. side indicators AND fog lights. should be like the below: a clearance wedge bulb and H3 fog light globe. extra wiring for the side indicators.
I'll talk to the auto electrician had them the other way on last zed, side half moon as indicators and these parkers wires cut, so I'll swap them over
If you are going to replace the stock parker/indicator with fog lights then you will have to get Jap spec corner indicators. But back to the hole left over from the Auspec parker/indicator, I wonder if these SuperCheap/Repco fogs will fit.
Stock zed fog lights are easy to obtain either second hand or through Coz, and are a much better overall solution than shoe-horning something that will never look or fit quite right. The foggies in your pic appear to have the wiring underneath the light whereas for the zed it needs to be at the rear of the enclosure.
Mate are you coming sat? I can have a quick look for you, it shouldn't be a difficult thing to sus out
Before ya get to far into it mate just have a look at what you got first. When I first got my j-spec I had the combinations in the front as well as the normal indicator/Parker lights. What had been done was the fog light plug and the indicator plug had been swapped and the stock indicators left unplugged. So all I had to do was pull both indicators out swap the plugs back and put the lights back in. Problem solved. Apparently it happens during compliance when their imported
thanks jabba I do have the proper foggies off a member here just needed to know what to do, my little auto elect should be able to help sort it out
Just have a look ya self mate. Should only be two plugs each side so the one that's not connected will be the fogs
Man if you've already got the lights you don't need to pay a sparkie to plug them in... If you're coming down tomorrow it's not hard to show you how they should be plugged in and see if your car already has the loom in place...
