LOL, it's Blue Steel baby!!! Cheers for the pics Scott, nice work.:YDOK people, you have pics now, so who would like one of these FMIC or Hard pipes for their Zed?
i do but does the guard that is supposed to go under the oil cooler and all that have to be removed permanently to make it fit?? how far does the bottom of the cooler stick out with the standard front bar??
You can't fit the lower engine cover as the FMIC gets in the way. It will not extend past the lower edge of the front bar, you can only see it in the pics because Dan's front bar has a cut out in it.
Probably about a week to get to Sydney Last time I sent my old FMIC east it cost about $50 but I'd allow about $60 cos they made a mistake and had to honour the original quote. I think it took about 4 days from memory.
Can the hard pipes be linished? Hey DUB..Is it possible for these hard pipes to be linished ie. the welds ground off and polished up to look like one single piece?I reckon they would look very good if they were.If it is possible, how would that affect the price?Ben
Yes it is possible, but no it's not worth it The heat used to weld these pipes is very low, so as to not push any weld into the pipe itself. If you linished them there would be a high probability that you'd be filling a lot of small bits where the weld didnt go that far BUT I'm one step ahead of you for fixing this As there seems to be quite a lot of interest in the 'no welds' look, I have made enquiries as to getting straight pipes mandrel bent up and a silicon reducer used to go to the throttle bodies from the normal sized piping. If I can get these reducers for a decent price (currently around $35 each) then I might be able to get the pipes bent up in a mass order and have only one weld in the whole lot! (Passenger side turbo outlet)I'll get back to you when I know more
